People would be more willing (or less willing) to do this if you posted some sample works. Otherwise this just looks like spam. Just a suggestion

I have to say that this is brilliant! If you can inhacent people's shadow and lighting, this is going to absolutely take off. I hope you've already lined up a personal assistant and a CPA, because with a business model like this, you'll be bigger than aglets and fire-proof pajamas!

Oh, dang it! I just realized: this is a web site where people want to get better at art, not have other people do it for them.

Shoot. You were so close to having a really good idea. That close. You know, you could go over to the Harley forum and offer to ride people's motorcylces for them. That would be cool, too.

I'm sure there's also a market for closing the deal on successful dates. B'ow-chicka-b'ow-b'ow

At first I thought this thread was going to be something about "Weird Science".

But.. I, too. Have a brilliant idea. Everyone can draw, and color thier own sketches

How would adding shadow bring it to life? From the sounds of it it'd crapify it.
    Nice edit n0fish.

While I kinda doubt that this is anything but a way to rip people's art off, I also think that it would be rather beneficial for a professional to do a paintover of some of my work. If he really can bring some of my images to life, then I'd love to see how he would do it and learn off it. Paintovers are helpful as fuck

Give a man a fish, he feeds for a day.

Teach a man to fish, and he'll sit in a boat with a rod drinking beer all day.
I think most people on this forum wants to sit in a boat with a rod drinking beer all day.

Okay .. after a few virtual seconds of thinking .. this sounds dodgy ...
Id say .. Wilson1 .. post more of your work ... so that anyone interested can be convinced by your skill .

But I think that as said above .. artists have choosen to become artists .

The idea behind art in my opinion is to express one's own view.

This will oviously be diluted if another artist changes & adds things.

Your idea IMO could work but not here with this kind of audience.

Many of us do digital art just like you.

I think you may be able to sell this kind of idea to a non-artist audience.
Because those artists that want to do digital or are doing it oviously wont be interested & I think those artists that arent into digital wont be interested either because well they dont like digital.

So maybe instead ... have a service where U (sorry i havent used that letter in a while) take someone's photo & do a fancy digital version .

Well what you are wanting to do is something a la Pimp My Ride but for scribbles - sketches - & anything else that could make money.

This could also be seen as decoration in a way.

This kind of thing for example :
    http://www.canvasrus.co.uk

Art which serves as deco for the house ... tht way you could potentially in my opinion make a lot more money than any one sticking to pure art.

Well, I don't think anyone here is concerned about their art getting stolen. Hell, I'd even feel a little flattered if someone decided to claim my work as their own. Thing is, most pepole here at the forums are here to learn. If pepole want to work further on their scetches, they will most likely do so by painting - digital, traditional, or both. Sure, if someone with a reputation for their skills, offers a paintover, most pepole will be happy for the offer. When you make a first post like this, without any introduction of your self or your art, most pepole will discard it as spam.

Alos, filters is absolutely NOT the way to go. Filters are synonymous (SP?) with cheesy , cheap and n00bish. If you are serious about becoming an artist, or at least want to look like one, I suggest you stay away from them and learn the real deal: paint.

n0fish, I love that you're concerned about spelling synonymous correctly, but still go for the non-word (with digits) "n00bish".

You are a 21st century man, my friend.

Is it wrong that I want to fondle your "scetchboob"?

    Wow, way off topic.

First off: If you believe anyone can steal someones art when it's posted online your way off point, if your caught stealing an artist design or original art, you can be sued for a rather LARGE amount of money depending on what you do with it. I know you wouldn't steal it, I'm just making a point.
Secondly: If you say shitty sketches, what makes you think someone would want to collaborate with a person who thinks thier work is shitty?

After seeing your before and after examples, I don't see why you don't just start and complete your own work? If you were looking to just do collaborations, then find fellow artists your friends with and just work with them. If you go about it this way, people will just laugh or think your trying to pull some kind of scam. Just as a side note: If you were to do work like this, you wouldn't own the artwork entirely because you would have to give credit to the artist whos sketch you used and on top of that, you wouldn't be able to sell the design/concept without thier written permission with a signature signed and dated in a contract.

Thanks DSillustration for shutting this guy up, although I know he'll post a smart ass reply like, I was only showing this as an example, of course I wouldn't take credit for having produced this sketch, I didn't know your supposed to give credit when you post a sketch "based" on another artist work. yada yada

I wonder now, if he even painted the background or if he just grabbed it off the internet through google, since that background could be found anywhere.

    SOMEONE close this thread.

Not that there is any real need to further prove he is lying
Take a look at his profile where he proceeds to say the sketch was done by a friend of his and it took him 5 hours to complete the finished image.

I'm sorry, it took you 5 hours to paint the sketch in black and to put blue marks on to an existing image of the moon you took offline?

Dogfood, yep, "n00bish" sums up alot of stuff and now I know that I spelled synonymous correctly. And sure, fondle all you want, but please don't quinch too hard, as it has grown rather...sensitive lately.
