Firstly, congrats to Trespasser and Mhugo for winning the two recent EOW's respectively!

This week's topic is a traditional one. It is to take place in ancient times. Ancient history is the study of the written past from the beginning of recorded human history to the Early Middle Ages. For your environmental design direction, think Old World, classical antiquity, archaic periods. All the spices spread around in jugs, dusty atmosphere, a bustling place.

Brief:
1. Try to ensure that your market has an "ancient" feel to it.
2. You must post at least once in this W.I.P. thread to be included in the finals thread for the voting poll.


W.I.P. Challenge: (optional)

This week's Work In Progress challenge is to draw at least 5 random items that you would find in an ancient market, preferably in thumbnail format. Props from the landscape, if you will, i.e. a cyprus tree, a clay pot, fresh bread, a watermelon stall, indigenous clothing items etc.

My 2 month daughter give me some time. So I try to add few things to it.

I try to capture a feeling of surrounding of Bazar in some Middle East city. Sellers from their shadow stores try to catch customers walking from Bazar Gate.

For my Entry I chose late Joseon Korea, circa 1300's. I wanted to capture an early morning street of business, just before the crowds arrive, one frugal politician arrives early to get the best deal on some fine silk for his wife's new clothes.
