    Tal´s thread (Current: Dizzy)

Hello, These are my first 3d models ever I kinda like how they came out (very very simple, but hey, I´m a noob) and wanted to see what you thought. I am learning blender for 3d.

And one inspired on a boat my brother made in school

Hmm, I wonder if this will become a kind of a progress thread thingy if I post most of my 3d-"sketches" here In the end I might be able to do some complex stuff... All this vertex tweaking is making my eyes bleed and UV-Mapping is a bitch to do, but damn if it isnt fun

    Thumbs up

They look great to me, however I have never done anything of the sort... so how did you do the wood grain? Does the program give you textures? Or do you have to bring-them-in/build them your-self?

    It´s my first "big" 3d project.. Currently about 20 - 25% done

Two more hours of modeling Takes time when you´re not comfortable with the tools. Its coming out a bit more "boxy" than I want it too. Must fix that. (Btw, the two big cylinders on the back are going to be jet engines)

Its influenced by them. But I´ts going in a different direction The wheel system is straight from bugatti and the shape and feel of the front and cab is from bentley.. well, started out that way.. Current progress

Cool. And it only took you 5 days to go from a wooden toy car to an "almost" finished hot rod.

Just doing some color tests on it. I kinda like this scheme even though I'd like to change the color of the trim, but my bed beckons me. And I must comply. So, what do ya people think?

Wow, amazing improvement over the first sculptures. I don't know my 3D programs well, but that looks pretty kickass to me. Some nice detail.

Boss Hippo : Thanks for your kind words

Now my computer hardware is starting to strangle on its 130k face count, and I´m aching to go do something else after four days staring at the same wireframe. Its been fun, but this whole 3d world is new to me so I am now just wrapping this bad boy up and calling it finished.

    Color Render:

    Uncolored:

    Completely finished form:

The car can go faster than a speeding bullet!!!

Anywho.. more 3d now. I´ve added a house to the "town-to-be" and started modeling a Fiat Punto, this is 4 hours into the car Some problems in the front area but I think its coming along nicely.

you should try adding a bump map to the wood texture in the first one...that would give it more of a realistic look...

    damn, those are tight

have you used the rampshaders or raytraced mirrors,,, with these and other settings you can tweak your materials to have that nice glossy car metal shine. Raytraced mirror materials look sweet when applied to car metal also. The enviroment reflecting off the car parts.

Anyway, it seems that you've got it figured out, I definetly will be checking out this thread again.
