Hey folks, I've been watching this thread for some time. Everyone has some great work. Thought I'd post some of my own life studies - unfortunately they are not so recent, but within the past year. Critique is very welcome!
Edit: For those who are curious, these are all done on Canson 18x24 paper. 2nd group are 5 minutes each the rest are long poses, about 3 hrs.

Here are my figure drawing studies. My drawings are not nearly as good as the other figure drawing things I have seen posted on this thread. I think I have a lot to learn. It's great to see everyone's work.

from the past month or so, some short some long poses - 5 minute shorts and about 3 hours long. Main Loop, those are awesome! The last two are done with vine charcoal, which I wasn't used to at all, but it is still fun to work with!
great stuff from everyone here. all pix are so much inspiration for me. Thanks so far. Here one of mine:

Hey guys! I´m Marcelo, from Brazil. I´m pretty much studying by myself, and that totally s**ks. This is my first life drawing with charcoal. Bit messy, but it was an attempt....![]()
Today's efforts! Conte on Canson paper. @MarcelllusBR: That does not suck, sir, it's much better than my first attempt with charcoal!![]()

just a question sirs, is there a big deference drawing from pictures and from live models?... i'm studying on my own and the only reference i have is anatomy books i downloaded from the internet...
yeah, one is making a 2d image from a 2 d image and the other is translating the real world into a 2d image, big difference. You can draw yourself using a mirror or you can go outside and draw people in real life both will be different than copying a static image. Copying is okay but at some point you will want to draw from life.
There's no figure drawing class in my city, and I barely managed to talk my boyfriend into posing for me this summer and this is what I got...
Now that it got cold again he won't pose anymore so I'm doomed with no model![]()
This is a great thread. So many talented artists. Here are a few of mine.
