I hope the above works.
I dont know if the above fits into the "catagory" of concept-art but Ill C what U all say.
The idea behind it is creating a balanced image from boxes ,lines & different colours.
Ive played around with this already quite a bit on my computer.
So there are still quite a few images to come based on the above.
C+C welcome .

Based on the above .... there are a few versions inbetween .. but there is a limit I think .. might still change .. a sketchbook is a sketchbook :-)
It is above .. inverted ... with magic GIMP gradient & bluring .
It is purely visual I guess ... I have "concept-art" ideas as well .. but anyone's creativity isnt bound to one area of art .
The concept-pieces are more complicated & involve quite a bit of work I guess.

Im not completly sure if there are any rules on what can & what cant or should not go into this digital-forum-sketchbook.
The only thing I have read is that its a personal artistic journal of the person it belongs to.
I assume & hope that photography is part of that.
Please someone tell me if I am wrong.
:-)
BTW : The above is a photo of the roof of the greenline bus-station in London .
Pity that it has unfortunate bits in it :-)

Xept 4 my lack of skills .. the other reason this looks awful is because I cant scan ATM & photograph & level-adjust images.
And this one is maybe just that little bit too much compressed :-(
An oviously unfinished attempt at a pencil self portrait.
The following link should at th bottom actually have a real picie of me :
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...&page=34&pp=60
My disillusioned ideas of actually never gettin any comments are creeping up inside my head again
Hint : Could someone at least give me a really awful comment .. any comment is fine .. .. ?

MAn, it should not matter if you do or do not get comments! Just keep on posting you will get feed back sooner or later! Work more on proportions and anatomy! Draw from life, sketch daily, even if it's for a couple minutes... Keep going...
Hoooray a real comment
THX .. & yeah Ill keep posting :-)

I think your pics here are a bit small to elicit comments...and your DeviantArt page is a bit hard to navigate. And once I get there, I think your work tends to be more abstract than what people here probably feel comfortable critiquing.
I'll focus on your self-portrait. It looks a little flat-particularly the left eye. You might wanna ease up on the charcoal (is that charcoal?) a bit so you can see if you've got the forms right before you start covering them up with the realy dark areas.
I think if you work on striving for some more depth and realism in your sketching, it'll ultimately make your abstract pieces more convincing.
THX a lot for going all the way to DA to look .... cheers.
Well its actually pencil.
Scanner not working ATM so I took a photo & adjusted the levels .. so it ends up looking darker I guess than it actually is.

oooooo again another link

oooooo a song
We are Murderers
As far as I’m concerned we are all murderers
We eat murdered animals everyday
We are murders controlled by the state to kill
Only allowed to at their will
Chorus
So lock us up if we kill in society
Give us medals when we kill in war (country)
Third world death millions dieing
The west living in ungrateful luxury
As far as I’m concerned we kill dead
For we keep the machine that kills fed
Chorus
And I don’t like to feel that I’m part of the deal
Of the blood that congeals because of my actions
And I don’t like to feel that I’m part of the deal
For the legal destruction of the world
Chords
D////CG
ooops no pixs but I don't know how so I'll just say
Government Kills more than we could help in our wildest imagination ever do
imageshack.us .. is nice & easy ...
Okay I looked at ur site ... U safe up the money U get from ur photography & travel to some poor country & pay them Western amounts for everything.
Okay .. sounds nice .... but if I was poor (Im certainly not .. im a spoilt brad IMO) .. & some Western person came along ... giving me lots of money for anything .. .
Well I might think this person is trying to make him/herself feel better by giving the poor people of the world tons of money ... it could be seen as arrogant ... & U come along hand out money & happily wander back again with photos of poor people (they might just give U extra poor looking images 4 extra money) ...
Okay sorry .. but the thing is .. very few people will then end up with lots of money .. it seems to me to make more sense to be part of a help organisation ... which do this kind of thing profesionally & daily .
But THX for ur comments.
Yeah U are right of course with governemnt induced killing .. but the biggest problem are we - humans.
Maybe one of these new diseases will get rid of quite a big number of us ... or maybe just completly wipe out out .. everybody else would be delighted![]()

They are painfully ugly ATM IMO BTW .. any other acronyms?
This self-portrait attempt is .. well the range is not wide enough .. these cheap pencils break off so damn often ... so I end up using a graphite stick .. or whateva it is called ... .
It has no background At The Moment.
My head is kinda cut of at the top .. there is quite a bit missing .
Nose is too small .
Eyes are crap ... didnt bother at the time to do them properly .. .
My eye-brows are not glued on & fake
My hair isnt finished & looks a lot messier in real life
& well it isnt finished
That was the first evil .
The second one is in comparison less finished than the portrait attempt.
Its from a photo BTW.
There will be a blurred red car driving past the building on a gloomy summer day
The roofs still dont have any detail & the rest is still lacking detail.
The "tonal" range (think thats the expression) isnt wide enough ( like above .. same crappy pencils .. Ill have to buy proper ones soon) .
Its too light ATM.
I made up a bit of the buildings behind the building - not good.
Windows & other little details are also still missing.
So here :
Okay says it on the paper .. but is there a good excercise to learn to do the tonal range properly immediatelly without having to go over it too often.. exept "draw draw draw" as an excercise ?
Or is the answer simply ... take object with many df lighten areas & draw exactly what U see ?

This is a sketchbook .... so anything that is not good enough to be finished or may not be a work in progress or a photo or photo manip & is more than a realxing digi scribble lands in here .
It is a kind of kitchen sponge :
Faults :
x Wrong colours
x No background
x no proper shadows
x unfinished
x wrong perspective
x no attention to detail
I propably should have tried drawing this bugga first instead of hugging my yummy tablet![]()

WARNING : This sketchbook will contain severly laughable attempts at art .
PLEASE be cautious not to doe of laughing too much ...
U HAVE BIN WARNED !!!
Based on photo of this blurred car again ... there is a crappy unfinished sketch above .
I should really try to post the above in the "Finally finished" section
