Oh man, I haven't been drawing for almost a month, so dusting off the tablet felt rather good. Here's something I just started working on, it's supposed to be a crazed high level rpg character taking on a forestful of freaks with his wolf. (btw, it's a sketch)

Just about everything looks awkward, and I was hoping you guys could help me a bit with the composition, it's rather boring at the moment.

I'm not sure how intimidating you want the forest to look but atm I don't think it feels like a 'forestful of freaks' yet. Maybe add some monsters in between the trees or add some more at the bottom of the picture, closing in around him.

You're off to a good start, but my first impression was that he was OUTSIDE the forest. I think Saibot's suggestion (and he used his first ever post to crit you, you should be honored!) about closing up the bottom of the pic will help the feeling that he's actually within the forest. Maybe even taking that tree at the left side foreground and putting it at a slightly more severe angle.

Undefeated: Ah, I see what you mean, and I'll try to fix it as soon as I can. I guess I could add some stray branches to the foreground, but adding a whole new tree would be a bit too much. Thank you so much for the suggestions!

As for the monster, try to add some 'movement'. Use reference. As for now they look, stiff.
