Great design and rendering on the waterlope; since photeck brings it up, maybe the tail could use a rudder...just seems like that would be a practical thing to evolve.

The guy in your previous post isn't really doing it for me, but you can't win 'em all...maybe the arms and legs are just too sketchy for me. But you did an awesome job with his face.

photeck121 dunno, you may be right, the concept is approved though, so i can't add anything to it anymore (i think...) thanks for the crit though!

max1975 about that guy, i originally drew it in bw, and later decided to add color. I guess something happened along the way (lack of skill) and it went to hell. It kinda winged the anatomy and such. [/excuses]

odie no moro äijää ei oo tääl vähään aikaan näkynytkään! Pistä ihmees oma SB pystyyn!

Ootkos vielä tulossa keskiviikona piirtelemään laturiin?

a crappy demon thingy i drew today, lost the momentum to finish it.

I'm gonna have to ask some of you guys to teach me Finnish someday. Some of my favorite music comes from there but it's hard to sing along, not knowing the language.

I think maybe you should pay more attention to the underlying structure on your digital sketches. Their balance and proportions seem kind of wonky when compared to your waterlopes, which are much more elegantly put together. Maybe with a more solid structure you wouldn't lose momentum.

max1975 just ask me what phrases you'd like to hear in english i hope i can translate them. here is a taste: "hevi on parasta paskimmilaankin"
meaning eaven at its worst heavy [music] is best...

good advice about the form, i'll have to keep an eye on it.

final version of the waterlope. Still not as satisfied with it, but this is all the time i have to spare right now.

How do I say, "Jenny Wilhelms, you have the voice of an angel. Will you marry me?"

I'm really pressed for time the next couple of days then going away for about a week, so I can't give your updates the attention they deserve at the moment, but a quick glance reveals a lot of awesome stuff...especially the heads and faces. Favorite is the top one here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../inkfish58.jpg but this one's a close second: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../inkfish41.jpg

This stuff was definitely worth posting...I hope to see more in the future.

hey there max1975 Thanks for commenting again. The stuff i posted earlier was accumulated in the past month or so, glad you liked.

"Jenny Wilhelms, you have the voice of an angel. Will you marry me?"
"Jenny Wilhelms, sinulla on enkelin ääni. Tuletko vaimokseni/Menetkö kanssani naimisiin?

hope she says yes, i'm happy for you!

Just joking, I doubt I'd have a chance with Jenny Wilhelms, even if I had ever met her... she's the singer/fiddler from my favorite Finland band.

Digging these last couple digitals...forms seema bit distorted but it looks intentional, so no worries there...

nice thread man. the one thing that got me was your shading could use a little work. it a little rough in spots, it could be a little smoother. but other than that, you seem to be on the right track. keep it up dude.

Cool updates. This one creeps me out: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sh/1xpcopy.jpg. Minotaur's got an awesome head but his horns are looking too angular and flat.

max1975 Hey there! glad you liked the head, i took some extra time on it. As for the horns they are still "wip" but your crit is valid. I was thinking of ditching them altogether...

Here is something i did just now.

    another version

Hey nice Caravaggio study. I did one with acrylic paint not so long ago, it's in my sketchbook thread. Check it out. Keep up the good work!

    Peace

Good stuff all around! Your pencils in the beginning are very strong, and your color work all looks very nice. A few of your color pieces get a little bit blurry and muddy, but only in places where it doesn't matter much. You also come up with some really cool stuff, lots of great ideas in here!

Rendering's as sweet as ever, but underlying forms looking a bit flat...this one being a notable exception: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...matonen11b.jpg
