    another poor creature attempt

Prophet - Thank you for the kind words. I was reallu upset when it happened. it's funny you should say that it's dark, I've noticed that, too. But the funny thing is I always wanted to play a more fun / whimsical angle, hahah, oh well.

Julien - I will do my best to update daily! And you did hear ride, some hacky sack playing hippies stole my sketchbook when I was getting refreshments. cheers, J!!

    Here is a sketch for C.O.W. 42

    Hey Loren.
Like I told you earlier great!! character! His face is really strong. You know what would be really cool if you added some design on those cards. just draw them on your drawing then you can cut and paste it on the one that you already color corrected on a different layer, so basically you don't have to rescan the whole thing again, because I know you work big. not sure if you have to scan different parts of your characters, like I do. but just a tip.

Great work buddy-o-pal!! keep them coming.

Your inks and linework look very fun, but I love your hatching style - Any specific influenes for it, or did you just kind of work that out for youself?

Hey man, just wanted to drop some love and respect pre-workshop. It looks like you're filling up this new SB quite nicely, back with a vengeance? I'm liking the recent sketch for the COW too, it reminds me a little if a worm of some sort grew legs and started eating children. But keep it up with the awesome updates, always listened but first time caller. Cheers man!

Hey Loren, quite an improvement you've made.
The linework is simply beautiful and the shading is extremely good as well, the only thing that I see as a weak point is expressions and variance.

On a vast majority of your characters there seems to a standard neutral expression that does not convey empathy to the viewer.
On the other hand, I'd love to see you dare more and explore new avenues.

    Keep it up.

Asoir Thanks for the encouragement! You're right. This is a chance to start a better book

John T Wow, man. That's incredibly nice of you to say. I appreciate that alot.

T I took your advice putting design on the cards for the re-draw of it. I think when I get a good scan of it, I'll do a paint over, and make them glow

rsnurkle Thanks! I definately did not come across this method of drawing on my own. It's from being on this site so much. Seeing art by guys like Marko djurdjevic, Coda Man, |ntern, Wes9000, Floris Didden and way too many great artists to name. Hopefully one day I'll be in thier ranks

Zord Nice!! I will have to have you draw in my sketchbook Thanks for stopping by man. I'm sure we'll all have a blast in Montreal.

Evildisco You are too correct about the bland facial expressions. In the next bunch of pages I do, I think that's what I'll focus on most. You're one fo my favorite people here, you're a stand up guy

Rolo Thanks! it's good to know that I am getting somewhere

Kian3001 Woh, It's you Thanks a ton for the comment. You're inspirng, you ae the guy I need to catch up to. My age, but already so so so good. Thanks for stopping by!

Julien Hehehe, does he frighten you? I'm glad! And thanks alot for playing with that masked girl picture for me You're a gift

T I will right now! And thanks a ton for helping me out all the time, you're too awesome. My personal teacher, and one of my best friends

Here is a re-draw of that last mystiker sketch. I did it with 2B pencils on board, Hopefully I can get a better scan of it soon

And here, Julien was kind enough to add some flare to an older drawing. You rock, Julien!! Thank you!!

WOW DUDE. You ahve improved alot since I remember... That or you just were never this serious. GREAT STUFF!!! Keep it up fa' sho. The new shading style is brilliant, and your characters are developing greatly!!! Now work on design, let's see some awesome fashion junkers come outta you!!!

EDIT: Though I like the first mystic more, the redrawn's hips are a bit too low... the first has a "Wideness" or like, an intimidation factor that I think makes it a stronger piece. Good work!!!
    Keep it UP!!!

Loren, Like I told you many times before you are getting sooooo much better!! I think PixelDragon had the right idea to pay attention to design. One really good trick is putting your character in a silhouette to see if the emotion reads. You did have a stronger gesture in the the first drawing, but the detailing in the second drawing is Fabulouso!! try to think about that for the next character, and you are golden. You know I can't post anything without giving you advice. Love you Bro!! keep them coming.

yeah, the fatty parts of this house of bacon have turned opaque because of the loss of heat, which makes it more difficult for me to see inside.

That said, bacon siding is sacrilicious.

great sketchbook, your rendering style kicks all kinds of ass, your coloring/paintning arent entirely up to par, but you are definately in the right direction with that as well. great characters too
