    j-toonalizations. Warning! contents under pressure{9-8}

ok, i'm new here, just been browsing around and decided to get some crits on my work, i've been drawing all my life and have made my most vast improvements in the recent 2 years. so here is some of my more recent things, i'll do an update soon, i've drawn a couple things in the past days.

    so here we go

sorry that most aren't scaled down, when i scanned those, i was just to lazy.

    Welcome to the forums!

You have some interesting designs here and clearly have a vivid imagination. Right now I think it would be helpful for you to focus on doing life studies to help you define and understand form and proportion better. This'll help you make your drawings more vivid and realistic.
It looks like you're having fun, so either way you're on the right track.

sirgreensock- thanks for the advice, coincidentally we are starting real life drawings in art class, so you'll probably see more like that soon.

here are some new sketches i've done, sorry about the poor color and value, my scanner blows.

trying to experiment with other mediums this time around

    pink highlighter

sketch of a person in my class

random sketch, yes the hands aren't so great, i know

another character for something i'm working on

green pen, green higlighter and pencil

usually i draw fit people, so i drew a fat guy

an attempt to do a landscape, marker, orange highlighter, red ink pen and pencil

    thanks for checking them out.

well, a good first post...but an obvious lack of reference material. only draw what you know...and if you dont know it yet, do the footwork to get there. otherwise people see right through your guessing games.

hey, How's it goin? I noticed you tend to leave your heads as an oval shape, you should shave off the sides of the oval at least a little bit, heads are not a perfect oval in any case. Keep up the studies and really try to capture simple objects accurately from life, It will improve your overall linework immensely

    Good start .
What "Mr Blonde " said bout further study is right .. yeah U go the easy way & do oval heads ... IMO maybe U can try out some shading on your sketches .

    Just IMO

first off thanks to both of you guys for stopping by.

mr blonde- i know i have a bad habit withthe ovals, i'm just lazy as hell, but i appreciate the advice and will make a point of applying that in my next sketches. thank you.

poohgee- i know i should shade more, but once again, laziness. i will have all of my next sketches shaded as well. thanks.

Hey! I like you're stuff! You're coming along in your studies and I feel your plight ( I also can never get to draw anyone!! They keep moving the best thing to do would be, to take pictures of them or just take models from magazines )
Shading would be good, it would add more depth and make them look more realistic. ( PS: don't be lazy, laziness will be your undoing!!)

    Anyhow, keep'em coming!

JToons, beat the laziness! It's cool that you're doing some perspective sketches, it's something I need to start. Keep pushing the studies too; take your time and improvement will show it's head soon enough.
