Goth girls... The new Illustration Activity sounds pretty fun.. but i have yet to finish one of these.. something always comes up.. and i've decided to not do them until i sharpen up my skills a bit. But I thought I would draw a few sketches and so some research and possibly give this one a shot.. since i feel more comfortable with the cartoony feel.

I'm not entirely happy with any of these (for the actual project i mean) so i'll probably have to play around some more.

Hey, Spider! You've got some nice things happening here in your thread, bro. Just keep up the studies and the life drawings, their really the strongest in my opinion. Your work will become more fluid and such as you go along this way. Just keep it up! Those feet are really nice BTW. Great studies. And I hope you get to make your stoner comic someday. Just don't get too stoned youself so that you can't make it. Keep the stuff comin'.

Thanks Zeb, I totally hear you about the life studies. Here at work we have a 'library' where we can take out things like books and videos and games.. and a few times ive taken out a few life drawing books.. or rather.. anatomy. Sadly I haven't seen any of the 'GOOD' ones kickin around. Most of the books are pretty confusing sometimes.. and I've already studied up on life drawing at school!! Ah well.. I'll keep at it for sure, and hopefully I'll churn out some stuff that will be really nice.

    Thanks for the comments

AWWWW THE KITTY AND SEAHORSE ARE SO CUTE!!!! Your anatomy is looking gooood too. I find one flaw with you though Spider, you put yourself down way too much! Stop saying everything is failed, it's not failed, it just hasn't turned out how you wanted it to turn out that's all. We're artists... we're human... we make mistakes, and we try to learn from them. Anyways, there's a lot of nice work here, just try to loosen up and if something goes wrong, post it, and we'll be gentle, promise!

hahah, thanks lover.. perhaps I shouldn't have used the word 'failed'.. they just never saw the light of day they could have.. rather.. they were never finished, finished on time, sketch wasn't what i wanted for the final. Thats why they 'failed'. Its not that I didn't like the drawing.. its just it never was what my goal was, or the goal for the project... and the fact it never got finished

perhaps I should have used a different word.. never meant to sound like i was 'beating myself up'

    Thanks for dropping by

Hey, those feet and clint are very good. His proportions may be a bit off, but you did an excellent job on the wrinkles. Btw, if that´s the view from your dinner table in post #2 I must say I´m jealous.

    Keep it up!

Great job, man! I agree with Z, your life drawings are the strongest. But your other stuff continues to improve. I love the drawing of Clint...you really nailed the pinched, squinty look he's always got. If anything looks off in the picture, it's his hair. But in all fairness, that's what I have the most trouble with in my own stuff after the eyes.

Looking forward to more works from you!
