I heard that is has been pushed back for its releas over here at the states. My boyfreind has told me its just better to put in the extra money and go buy the inport version. I think I just might do that .Since I love the FF games. My fav will always be FF9.

Nope, the state release will be sometime after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. So as to apeal the holiday rush. *money grubbing corporations...

Oh well, no biggy. It's pretty and all, but the animations, from what I've seen, are really...bland. There's no life there at all. My roomy has been so excited about this movie since it was first mentioned, I hope she won't be let down. :/

Yea, I watched it, it was good. I wish they woulda done more with the other characters and whatnot, but it had a suprising return of my favorite ff7 character... starts with a "R", ends with a "S". It's basically just one huge action scene, but the action is good... so it's alot of fun, and they did a great job with tifa. I hope they do that FF7 remake someday, yuffie, cid, and barret all were great in their new forms.. I just wanna see more of them.

FF7 is one of the best RPGs, or even best games, ever.

If racing at 200mph on motorcycles while spinning standing swordfighting jumping flipping grunting making suprised faces blocking bullets with swords shooting flying through the air being generally invincible and all around fantastical maneuvers, ALL AT THE SAME TIME is your thing, you will love this movie.

As for "fanservice"....I can imagine 12 year olds thinking it was awesome. So they would have had to play the game when they were.....4-5 years old...if at all.

I have yet to see it. Someone on another forum I go to had a torrent of it. It already had it's release on the big screen in japan, and the dvd/umd official realease is tomorrow. It has no subs though if you decide to import it. There are a few reviews already online that I have read, and the general consensus is that if you have never played ff7 you won't get the movie at all. This is definately a film for fans only. Everyone I talked to is saying that its pretty damn amazing. God I can't wait till the fall.

Some battles started off intense with a real sense of weight and danger, but somehow as the battles raged on characters could jump higher, defy more gravity, cling to walls, take injuries that would crush bones into sand ect, and be unscathed. What I loved about this movie is also what I didn't like about it. The fight scenes were well coreographed, but it got too over the top, too "super hero-ish". It seemed everyone was invinsible and anyone could do anything, like they were in the matrix.

Anyway that's just my opinion, many of you will love it no doubt. Bahamut's appearance was excellent! and it was pretty great to see the characters in detailed 3D (but unforunately they all looked like dolls with real skin wrapped over them).

oh cmon..what I mean is the whole "exaggerated" action thats happening in the movie. A lot of humanely impossible stuff happens in the movie as well as in the game for crying out loud.

I expected it to be exaggerated, in fact, i enjoyed alot of it, ex: the first half of tifa's fight, alot of vincents movements, limit breaks....etc....at least half of it was just WAY TOO OVER THE TOP EXTREME TO THE MAXXXXXXXX.......in my opinion.

I just watched it.

I thought it was a pretty bad movie. THe animation and graphics are unargueably incredible, and I loved the fight scenes. But the plot, story, pacing, and certain elements are just BS. Plus I think the worst part is that in order to really get anything in this movie, you have to know the game. Otherwise it's just a confusing mess.

Take Denzel for example. He wasn't in the game, and not much was said of him in the movie, even though a lot of importance seemed to be placed onto him. The rest of the orphans didn't even appear until further into the movie. Infact I don't think it was ever implied that Tifa and Cloud ran the orphanage at all. For a while I thought the two kids were brother sisters, and related to Cloud and Tifa.

What's with the circle of orphans around the memorial tower anyways (this is the scene before Kadaj summons Bahamut)? Also, the angry mob made no attempt to do anything. All the did was protested behind a fence of children! Sure they get chased off by demons AFTERWARDS, but it was still pretty bs.

Then the sudden appearance of all the old heroes. It was kind of overwhelming even for me. (Even though that's where it starts getting good!)

I thought the Tifa/Water thing, and the "I couldn't protect you", was kinda cheesy.

-orphans just do exactly what kadaj tells them to do??
-cloud is neo/goku (but he was still cool)

I just watched it, and I am afraid that I agree with 2100. Graphics and action is totally amazing, but plot, story and pregression and pace of the whole thing was fucked!

I had the same feeling when I watched this movie, that I had 3 years ago when I watched The Matrix 2... Cool graphics and action, but fucked up story!

Q: From where the hell did the kadaj gang come from?
Q: WTF is this geostigma thing?
Q: What exactly is the kadaj group's objective?
Q: Right at the end, Kadaj notices that Jenova cells leaked off and finished then he shouts... two mintues later he uses the box to turn to sephiroth, WTF?
Q: Since when Cait Sith is on RED XIII, where is its big teddy?!

To make money!! duh, what do you think square-enix is after? Making quality games and movies that appearl to the gamer, the child and the intellectual, or pushing over-stylized, super hyper action to the mainstream croud and fanboys?

-Did anyone wonder how Cloud, and those two silver haired androgynous freak boys managed to fly through the air in the tunnel scene after getting knocked off their moving bikes (which they landed upon later miraculously defying everything) after what should have been lost momentum from throwing a bike, cutting through a bike with a sword and flipping around in empty space. oh yeah. The yuppie shot him twice with his gun, that sent him hurtling another 80 feet before landing on his bike (which was teleporting around below him to keep up with all this stop and go action.

Advent Children is suppossed to place 2 yrs after the events of FF7. But I do remember at the end of FF7 in the game it shows RedXIII and whatnot 500 yrs after the meteor events. Haven't seen AC yet so I don't know how that flows together, so not quite sure.
