most of my recent work has been studies and stuff for concepts which is pretty boring, no actual art just scribbles. so heres a couple life d00dles
( model had the most glorious boobs i ever saw...)

Sean, How's the hand? 16 days later I can give you something to clarify what I said.

Its mostly about some plane changes and possibly landmarks that seem missing. I know women generally have less muscle definition than men, but it still seems incomplete. I think you've got the landmark of the Tensor fasciae latae in there but its possibly too subtle. I think the main problem is you have the gluteus mediums poking out... her bum is too sharp, like it juts out to the side too much. The plane change to the buttocks from Tensor fasciae latae stops this. No amount of fatty pads over the gluteals would make it jut out like that, imo...

    This picture may help

Also I just noticed the army dude, his legs look like they're sweeping away under him. But otherwise a cool concept, the gun's pretty swish. Liking the life doodles too, I must get to Mall soon.

Keep at it man, don't forget the mass drawing!

    yor: yor too kind
flurry: thanks for taking the time- i think because i learn my anatomy thru line drawings from reference, im missing out on some of the more subtle landmarks. also i dont think that landmark is necessarily obvious all the time

anyway its definately something thatll stick in my head now. thanks. and about the "sweeping" i know what u mean but i figure i need to focus a lot on rhythm in my figures and it was the best way i could figure out how and id rather that than a stiff gesture u know?

    great man

I want to see some more finished stuff! grab an A3 paper, do some thumbs and draw me 2 male spacemarines making out. or any other subject. you could even do it all in line, but it really does pay off to refine something every now and again. I know thats what you are doing at school and all, but apply some of that to your personal work!

Im loving the gesture drawings of people from life though, awesome stuff.

cheers, when are you coming over?

    PEACE!!!

...awwwwww yisssssss muthafuckin update i know youse gots more drawings and paintings and concepts still unshown yo, would be awesome to see what comes up next!

Haha, remembered that wed model o___0 absolutely massive rack
Bro, yer gestures are super strong, no problem in that department- them recent sketches are really awesomely loose, i wished i had that kind of line control and mastery

maybe lay down some colours on some of your recent concepts? would be interesting to see how refining and rendering it in colour changes/improves on the original concept if ya have the time

Hey dude them sketches are beast, hope you're keeping. Is that one of your LARA studies? How are you working your way up to the finished thing? What are you using, graphite? charcoal? Anyways those aliens are cool, the shading is hatchy yet there is life in them. I guess ideas don't ever come fully conceived, how about trying some silhouette stuff, then you've got some stock to which you can play with. Just a thought. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Good to see some more work man been a while. Some more sweet line drawings, the capture of a character is rapid and successful. It's hard to find good places to draw people, but noticable all of these characters are just looking down. I can't think of any places off the top of my head, but perhaps approach from different angles if thats even possible? The life drawings are wicked, all the shapes have weight to them which makes them feel more than just lines on a page. Soldier design is pretty much exactly what the brief asked for. Impressive. Want to see more of those. Immediately.

One thing I really want is colour! I know you're banging out the lines and it's faster to do so and there's nothing wrong with that, but colour (or at least some more tonal work like the portrait of your atelier tutor) will just develop your knowledge further. Perhaps take some of the quick observational works you do further, onto the computer or under a paintbrush and experiment? I dunno.

As always, will practice what I preach.
