Hey, Sarah, as a fellow AE, I have to say that your stuff is looking pretty good, but your hand studies are absolutely top notch. They make everything else pale in comparison. One really effective technique that I've been recommending is to draw something from reference, then draw it again without the reference and compare the three. I think that if you start incorporating more of the "real" in your work, it will really take-off.

And I finally got off my ass and used the scanner!

Once again, not much, but better than nothing!

This1: Dude, I thought I was the only person who remembered that show! I loved it so much. I used a much older version of Colossus in this picture, I have a soft spot for early comic book characters. I see your point though, in the newer comics he's huge!

Dogfood: Thanks! The hand studies actually surprised me, they came out better than I expected. I like your idea about drawing from life and then memory, I'll have to try it.

Jcai: Thanks! I love art, but I don't think I could do it as a job, I tried doing commissions once and that was just a tragedy of lazyness and forgetfulness. My mind equates art with relaxation, I can't turn it into work.

dope submission for the COW of the orange leviathin, and cool experimentation with cell shading, its a cool drawing man. good job on the hand studies too, although your palms are a bit off, the worst one being the one in the middle farthest to the right.

Well, I finally started work on a new larger picture, I hope it'll come out alright (and barring that I at least hope I learn from it, I'd still like a pretty picture though).

Glikster: Thanks! I like to draw cars, they're all shiny and have neat mechanical bits. And I looked up the Corinthian and found that Niel Gaiman apparently also had the same idea as me that teeth eyes are cool. Well, I guess there are worse things than accidentally copying Niel Gaiman.

Gmags: I'll get to work on some new arts, hopefully they'll turn out well

Rodrigo!: The pink dragon thing isn't mine I'm afraid, that was the other member of the OC collab

I'll do many more hands though!

Here's the arts, pencil sketch is for a big new digital picture, crit it as much as you like (keep in mind that the cyborg is much bigger than a normal human though). The other two are work scribble, one of a Hork-Bajir from the Animorphs series (can I get a shout out from all the other animorphs nerds?) and the other is a plane sorta like a spitfire.

I'm back from a short vacation up in maine, and I've finally got my computer set up at home (but sadly no scanner yet, pencil and pen art will come soon) so here's some digital stuff to prove that I'm still here.

More progress on the cyborg and truck, as well as a speedpaint I enjoyed making. Perspective is iffy on the speedpaint, but I like some of the things I tried out for the first time.

the cyborg pic is coming along, but id suggest making the cyborg a different colour to the tank or something?

Glikster: Sure... it was my sister, it's not like I helped or anything

WIP of the cyborg and truck (crits appreciated), some requested sketchies, graffiti attempts, and more random sketches.

I've got to do more anatomy drawings, I forced myself to learn the basics years ago, but now I'm at the point where I need to refine my anatomy again.
I think my hands have much improved though!

the lighting seems a little inconsistent in the last piece.... I think it may be the similarities in hue between the vehicle and the robot that's making me feel that way.....
