sanya - Thanks! That piece isn't close to done, thanks for the crit
Cody - Thanks man. Unfortunately I've been real busy and I just turned in what I could finish so I would have something![]()
Ah well, can't win em all.
Jason Snair - Thanks!
Bojee - Thanks! I'll finish that SP at some point I reckon'
van - Thanks! Believe me, it's probably not worth the wait, hehe.
I've received some crits from another forum concerning my Sandman piece. I decided to act on a couple of them and make an update. Here the new one and a detail shot.

Damn dude, this stuff is looking really nice. There's a lot of really nice brushwork, especially in the portraits.
YESSSSSSSSSSSS you did the nipples!
Hi,
I like your anatomy and facial designs. I think the enviromental thing below is far to smeary. You've shown much better quality on the other designs.
greetings!
"Happen to every guy sometimes this does."
Yeah!! The helmet in the BG really did it! Love the piece!

bonesaw - Thanks Aaron. Hey I won't go into the details but I heard you were assaulted in Folsom St? Scandalacious...
strych - Haha, yes just for you mang!![]()
Yodaah - Thanks. You're totally right about that piece. I updated it a couple posts up. Not much of an improvement really, it was admittedly a rush job. I think I'm nearing my thunderdome demise
dCepT - Thanks man. Glad you like the helmet. I thought it needed something to make it more obvious who the character was.
Well since I'm on a bit of a Sandman kick, here's Dream's sister. Still a long way to go...

Groover, the sandman is... what's the word... dope. The colors definitely set the mood. Good job on the self portrait too, i'm liking the warm colors. The angle of it's very prolific. Reminds me a little of Michelangelo's twisting figures, like the Libyan sybil. Makes me want to sketch more. Thumbs up.
Top sketchbook, i'm really liking the half finished head studies.
cheers.
The self-portrait is really good. Great brushstrokes and the angle and expression work perfectly.
I'd love toi see more of 'em...
Other stuff's looking good too. Keep experimenting!! (Aren't pooters brilliant!?)
I've been slackin' on my Sandman reading, I just bought Seasons of Mist, and that shit stays with ya.. But then.. Gaiman is one of the best writers around, if you ask me. Just finished his latest book (Anansi Boys), and I'm thinking about making some pictures from that.
Good lookin' out on Death, so far.
Gonne be cool to see the updates!
peace

Awesomw, Groover. I really like the sandman piece. =) And dream sister looks like it is going to be equally as fun.

Zord - Thanks man. I totally have to look up the libyan sibil. My art history knowledge (lack thereof) is embarrasing.
Nutter - Thanks!
duddlebug - Thanks man. I'm really enjoying your sketchbook stuff. I have no idea what pooters are...oh computers. I be slow![]()
dCept - Hey thanks man! How is the Anansi boys book? I've been pretty lazy with reading books w/o pretty pictures, but I pretty much read everything Neil Gaiman writes. Mirrormask soon!!!!![]()
That fat kid - Thanks man. I'm still trying to figure out a balance between leaving some rough/painterly looking marks and rendering. Sometimes I feel like I can over render something and it ends up being unappealing to me.
van - Thanks for the encouragement man. I've been reading your thread, good luck going through whatever you're going through. I'm sure you'll be fine.
liam - Hey thanks man! Glad you found the new book!
dadamafia - Thanks.
Diego - Thanks. I will certainly keep posting.
Flaskpost - Haha, thanks. You should aim higher! hehe
Tigermilk - Thanks for dropping by. I'm definitely trying to post more often. Just have to make stuff worth posting.
Here's something a bit different, a simple 2-color illustration I did for work. Sketched out the cop then tightened it up in illustrator and just took a photo of the car and traced over it.
Here's a blue version that I'm leaning toward.

Hey man! Go with the blue version..
I'm eagerly awaiting an update on Death
And to answer your question; Anansi Boys was extremely cool! Too bad it had to end so soon..hehe... I even tried dragging out the last pages to make it last longer.
I'm not gonna tell you about it... just buy it and enjoy!

Wow Janu, I haven't seen any of this. Your old thread is old and busted compared to this new hottness.
going through this thread is like getting a fancy silver ride.
Very good work dude. That sandman is most exellent!![]()
Hi!
Thanks all. Well crap, I haven't updated this thing in a while. Stuff came up but I'm trying to get back into it. Here's some doodly junk, nothing special but I thought I'd update.

AWesome head. I love those designs around his neck and the metal device on his chin.
Hey welcome back, missing you around here. You must be going through some serious life changes to make that switch on your avatar.Makes me think of "Caddyshack", "I'm alright, nobody worry bout me......."
