    Julie Dillon.

Snowskadi (I have no idea what her actual name is, all I know is she's Russian and awesome).

There's just something about the way these two play with colors that really appeals to me, I definitely hope to be able to achieve similar effects in my work at some point.

Socialist Realist artists are pretty good at military art.
Their paintings about peacetime tend to be boring, with rare exceptions.

    V. Puzirkov - Black Sea Marines

    P. Maltsev - Storm of the Sapun Mountain, Sevastopol.

K.Yakupov - The Artist. Front sketches

    V. Bozhko - Banner of Victory

    A. Kitaev - Guarding the Peace

    V. Licho - Please, don't cry, Grandpa

    L. Kartashev - Moscow, 1941

    F. Usipenko - The Night Fight

    V. Nesterenko - Undefeated

    To what you posted.

I found this great site that has many facts and things from world war 2, such as service manuals, art, explanations of different battles and essays.

One of the more interesting parts is the three pages they have on Russian Art during and after World War 2

    http://www.allworldwars.com/Soviet%2...Paintings.html

There are three pages and its choke full of great art. I pretty much downloaded them all for my Art Folder.

    Wink Inspiring!

There are SOOOOO many images & works of art in ALL different media, that inspire me that that topic could produce, a book. Because of my personal bias; I have found many images on this site to be of interest in my own work.

Penitentes en Cuenca by José Ortiz Echagüe 1940. Medieval religious rituals are creepy.

Can anyone give me a classification of one of my fav artists?

Hey this is an artist my company worked with named David Durante. I'm looking for a classification for this kind of art...mind bending?, conceptual?, I've tried researching this a little. Can anyone help?
