Transparent BG in Painter?

I haven't used Painter8 yet except to try to get a .psd image into painter. That's easy. But I see no way to get an image with a transparent background from photoshop into Painter and retain the transparent BG. Is this true?

Any insight will be appreciated.

Hi,

The Painter Canvas in any version is always opaque.

Only Layers are transparent until:

• We paint on part of the Layer
• Paint over the entire Layer
• Fill part of the Layer with color
• Fill the entire Layer with color

If you can describe your image and explain what you want to do with it, maybe we can give you some suggestions.
