no offense,
is she going to have hands, or is it an alien thing?
because you should probably start blocking them in if so.
make sure the foot on "our" right is slightly larger than the foot on our left.
it will help to add a sense of perspective.
right now you have it swapped.

aye, THERE SHALL BE HANDS! and oh what hands there shall be! lol, thanks you for the crits on the foot, i can't say i really noticed that untill i small the smaller version that you posted.. and i do appreciate the tact! thank you!

The design is overall interesting, especially the color contrasts.
One thing I would say is the overall attitude of the character is a bit lifeless. Notice how on a female figure, curves are dominant, especially in the postures. Following the curve of the spine is very important. The spine is probably the first line you should lay on the page, and the rest of the body will follow more naturally.
Draw the overall posture first (including hands), then add details.
Keep it up!
i DO do some skeletal like stuff (not neccisarrily the full skeleton). but i can't recall if i did on this. methinks i started with the face (since it was occupying most of the canvas.) (REALLY HUGE CANVAS, it lags..). and i agree about the pose, it was one of those things where i had already done the head and then... well then! thought i would make it into a kind of character sketch. as for the spine, i know what you are talking about, not sure if i remember doing that with this. could you go into specifics, if you are seeing anything that bothers you? THAT GOES FOR ALL OF YOU! and yes, i may add some more curve action!
more crits and comments welcome..
Thanks thus far!.

Sorry about the delay in my answer, can't post from work.
Here is a quick sketch of what I meant. I tried to follow your proportions and exagerated largely what I meant about the spine.

i see what you mean. i have done curveyness. this one though, well, there have been many "make the best of it" sketchage in this one, IE, i'll do something, notice that i may not like it, then try to make the best of it. and i do think that the pose is a bit... lifeless...ish... whatever you might call it. i appreciate your sketch. i noticed it all the more after seeing it. i may end up remaking this at some point, if not to practice, to add more life to the pose, etc. thanks mucho for the help everyone!

vyle... beautiful sketch!
DSillustration>> thx!
Death-X2>>I know exactly what you mean. If you follow always the same process: rough sketch then detail and polishing, instead of starting directly and only with the head, that gives you the chance to kill a pose from the start if it is not good enough. A bit like doing a blueprint when building a house. It's cheaper to destroy a blueprint and restart, than having to destroy the house and restart. Personally I sometimes do 10 sketches or more just to find one pose for a character design. Then I take a break, get a coffe or something, come back look at them and choose one, or do a mix of various ones.
Usually they are very loose, and it makes it easier for the brain to understand where you are going (plus it's good practise!)
