yeah i definatly need to work on hands...and feet. i'll keep working on faces, cause thats one of my favorite parts of the body, cause my fav thing to do is to express emotion. so yeah.

Ello again Kitty. Some good influences you've got. The Furrs are the best so far I think. And I saved a bit of those photos for reference The blues in the B-17 pics are crazy.
Crit time: IMO you should start working on drawing the figure or any form in space. Now what does that mean? It means not just looking at the silhouette and drawing matching lines. Probably the best way to explain it is drawing primitives matching the limbs (i.e. box for the head, cylinder for the arms, etc). This makes matching proportions a bit easier since you're just using primitives and it gets you thinking about how things turn in space.
Now go forth and rocketh.

Ok i have been drawing. i've just been hung up on a commision i was working on. and not to mention life is throwing me one hell of a curve ball, as i'm haveing massive issues with my relationship of 4 years. so yeah...onto the drawings, right?

thank you so much for the advice. i sooo wish i had someone around to give me said advice and drill me...i'm so horriable at selfteaching...but i'm trying...i'm just slow and theres always a crazy amount of time inbetween practices...but yeah. i keep trying. thank you again.

Nice work Kitty I like the manga work you are doing but keep at the figure drawing. It looks like its working well for you.

On the last one your pencils were looking promising. The ink is not doing justice to the sketch. Try and get a little more line variation in there. If you are using drafting pens try and go over the line a few times in areas you want a little thicker. But like i said before you should really try and learn to work with a drawing pen and brushes for ink. It's hard at first but it's also easier to get better lines out of them after a little practice.

Bad me...its been awhile. good news is i finally have a scanner...bad news is, i havent been drawing much. but i'm starting to get an inclination to want to create things again...so hopefully it will spur me to draw more...so heres some stuff that i've collected over however long its been. its not enough to excuse me either.

Used photo reference for this one but change the face from a profile to this view...wanted to have her somewhat faceing the viewer...somethings off but at the same time i dont want to touch it. O_<;

this ones much older, but i dont remember uploading it. i really liked the loose lines. supoused to be me...i was pouting and fumeing over something dureing choir practice...so i drew myself, instead of listening to the directors instructions:

oh yes and i love drawing with those silver click zebra pens...there just so smooth...

yup guess thats everything for now...i think tommorow i will spend the day at the library...gathering historical references...and or drawing from books or people reading around me...make it a day trip. yup. enjoy i hope!

Nice stuff! It's good to see you bust out of your comfort zone every so often to draw cars and the like. Keep up those anatomy studies, as it seems to be your weakest part (especially faces). Keep it up, and remember to have fun! Looking forward to more.

Something inspired by a doll...yes a doll. their called Dollfies/Super Dollfies and their collectable doll/figure combination made of resign (much like a model kit) and super possiable. there beautifully designed...especially the faces. there great and admitingly i'd love to get my hands one...but there so expensive...oh well...one can dream right?

well its been a million years since i last posted. not really...but it has been some years. O_o; Alot has happened to fuel my disappearance. I found a job, i lost the job due to this stupid economy (and have been searching for work for over a year.) my relationship of 5 years ended (which left me rather traumatized and with issues), my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer...and things continue to look up and get more complicated. such is life right? I have been drawing, but not "studying" like i should have...so i doubt the following dump will show much in the way of progression, but i just wanted to prove that im still alive...and hopefully will try and work again at what i know will make me better. ^_^;; these are in no particular order:















































I know thats a lot to look at and i hope there's something in there thats critique-able...and maybe someone will even say there's a smidge of improvement? if not i wont be offended. After ive slacked for so long. :/

Woo! another update from me? no way. Anywho, i went out today and got some new pencils and some moleskin sketch books, a new library card to check out new reference material and downloaded a bunch of stuff from the reference section. I felt like drawing something so i figured id start!

I started with Loomis's Heads and Hands...its from the begining of the book...but i got bored, and so i soon moved onto Loomis's Figure drawing for all its worth. I started at the begining...or close to it anyways...and just drew what i saw and read, and drew. Then i tried a little free hand...then countinued...i did put page numbers and such...

i also tried a portrait from a reference pic of a random model i found on the net...but by this point i was getting tired. (its 2 AM! i know no excuses) so the shading and everything isnt superb...but i figured id slap it in there too...ummm This is also my first time useing the attachments. hope it works. O.o;

Also could someone tell me how to put a thumbnail where it lists all the threads in the subforum. you know right next to the title of my thread? Im curious to know how you do that?
