[Erm... Well, you all probably have a notion of the term "biomechanical", and, of course, a vortex is like a whirlpool or tornado... a swirling force. Okay, so... Join the two and you might get something weird. I think you get it, right? Good!]

The trees on the 5th planet of the centaurii system exhibited unusual amounts of bioluminescence, as well as a metallic sheen to their leaves. For a while, no one was quite sure whether they were grown or built... Every now and again, whether because of a passing comet, extra rain or whatever reason, an odd disturbance erupts between two trees, whether for reproductive purposes, a portal between worlds, or odd wind patterns, no one is sure...

(n_n) Kinda like how it came out. No idea how long I spent, likely 2 hours.

heh, came up with an idea of guy who has somekinda teleporter device as his chest

gotta learn to draw faster..

gotta run to work now..

Edit: got back from work

now i see all the anatomy mistakes i did

especially the guys hands are awful

but at least i still like the colours

The extremely rare Metaveritas vortexus is an intergalactic arthropod that is capable of a biomechanical process used to create a pseudo-blackhole. Though this process is not yet understood, scientists have theorized that the blackhole is used to trap and condense antimatter, which the creature uses as a fuel source. (This is the only known image of an adult female.)

holy!! this stuff is amazing!! xenos, what the!!! haha.. that's brilliant! and NKunleashed, that's what i was thinking when i was going to start. haha now i'll have to rethink mie idea... Hamsta - very sweet idea... i love the blades and machzero - omfg - nice going on something your not too enthusiastic abou hahhaha ... Jewl - wow!!! i love trees but if there were one of these in them i'd be afraid of them.

might submit my crap later, but not sure because i'm trying to get my homebulid pc working (stupid 20-pin/24-pin EAXT connector).

Hehehehe, I had a lot of fun with this one.

After numerous scoldings for playing around the "funny rock", Jr. disobeyed his mother for the last time, as he ran up and pushed the shiny red button.

i think its too dark, and green.

machzero - cool, like the tonal values.

jabberwookie It's not at all dark. The blackness sets a sort-of ominous mood. Excellent job.

Nineve Very cool, like the swirly eye. I presume this was a photo manipulation?

machzero - Cute. I've really been enjoying your forays into colour, though... Keep that up!
xenos - Absolutely my fave today. Despite some of the rough areas you mentioned, the immediate (and lasting) impact of this pic is excellent. Cool concept (He could shoot large missiles out of his chest if the armory is transdimensional... might be a fun platformer?), great use of colour, perspective, and lighting (and hottie). Long time to work on a dsg, though... yikes.
NKunleashed - I dig it.
Shaky - Ohh! Bunny!
jabberwookie - Seems to me like maybe the biomechanical portion of this could've been darker... subtler... to keep the focus on the vortex and figure, and keep the light source localized. Nice vortex and silhouetted figure, though.
Nineve - Hmmm... Well, that's a lot more filtery effects than I like to see generally... However, I think it's actually pretty successful anyway. Not so sure I like that weird little chunky thing on the lower left of his face, but if it wasn't there I might miss it. Cool.

This one didn't really turn out the way I'd imagined it. No depth to it, and that's key to what I'd intended. tch.

Nineve I don't like this one (don't like mine either.) I think it looks very amatuerish with it's over use of filters, the vortex "eye" is totally disconnected from the rest. The large vortex is centered between his mouth and nose - why?
What is that wierdness that Bill mentioned? (the one under his right eye)

At 3:58 am Professor Von-clockn’block discovered how to open the vortex to “>>Another Dimension<<” little did he know what was on the other side of the bio mechanize vortex…. .. .
