Said it there, will say it again - great piece, great Croc! As somebody mentioned, the elongated limbs make it cunning and creepy, and the rider's pose and face are great. Is it totally finished? I think some more detailing on the tail and the legs will make it even better One more question, how big is that beastie?

    Hi Evilivo,

Thank you so much. No he is not finished, I hope to have it done soon because I really like where it going. Definitely do want to get much more on the legs and tail. He is about 13"x8"x8".

    Thanks

Makig a heavy from TF2. I'm working with Sculpey Firm and I can say i'm not a fan. Could be I just get a bad box every time. I could use some ideas for a good heavy pose.

    Thanks for looking.

Most everyone that I have worked with blend SSFirm with regular SS. The mixture depends greatly on your preferences, but you will need a pasta press to get it to blend well. Mark Newman once said that he prefers a blend of 30% Regular SS to 70% Grey Firm SS. He does amazing work. See if this works for you...

I don't use a pasta machine, though it would be good for volume. I make two long strings — one Super, one Firm —and twist them into a rope. I roll them together into one long string, fold it double, and repeat.

It's definitely easiest when it's a little warm.

Thanks guys, I will try mixing ss firm with super sculpey again. Last time I tryed it never turned out; it was softer but still crumbley. All the local stores never get fresh ss firm. I worked some more on my catcop. I have gone over my sketch from mudbox, this is what I have for now. Soon I should be able to take him back into mudbox.

    Thanks for looking.

I like your trad and mudbox sculpting... I have mudbox myself but my graphics card fried awhile back... now I can't wait to sort it out so I can get back to improving my skills... using Chavant NSP Medium for the first time while I wait.

    Thanks for inspiring and sharing!!

Really nice stuff. I've just been catching up with this thread. What ever happened to the Heavy sculpt? I like the way that was going. Also, how did you find mixing the sculpeys?

Hey, thanks. The Heavy sculpt is in limbo on the shelf. I keep meaning to get back at it; it just hasen't happend yet.

The mixing has been ok, i'm still on the fence about it. Lately I have been using plasticine, but I would like to get some wax soon.
