    Hey all

Eric: yeah...I think the mummy will be one of my favorites to actually paint. I'm a big fan ancient egyptian civ. And yeah...wolfy looks a little funny...I just wanted to capture the wolf head aspect that i'm going for.

Here are a few more doodles from my train ride this morning - nothing major though.

    Good stuff.
Well done. I like your kind of anatomy. Superman is cool. He somehow looks mature.

Very cool sketches here. You must sketch a lot as you have a refined form of human anatomy. Like your animated facial expressions! Keep posting!

Great sketches. Good mix of realism and exagerated cartoon - creates alot of feeling.

Agree with MainLoop - the Monkey images is great. (his colouring was nice too).

Keep it up and keep postin.

    Wow.

SEVANS, solorpower, Art_Addict, Robolus, Yodaah, Sawa & Ryu: thanks for the kind words. I'm gonna wander over to your sketch treads today and see what you guys are up to.

Here are some train sketches from the past few days

I'm gonna go back and work on the wings some more

This morning I decided to draw from life, so I started drawing this woman who was reading a newspaper, but she got up and left after five minutes.

After she left, there was no one in front of me on the train, so I went back to drawing from my head. This one took about 25 min. and i now realize it's a bit thin-headed. (please ignore the black smudges near his lip, I think i need to clean my scanner )

That's still nice work. I like the first one. The girl is like a character that might fit well for animation. Was she really standing like that in a train?

    greetings!

Hi Yodaah. I think i may have been misleading. The train drawings are just drawings that I do when I'm on the train...99% of which are from my head. The only one that's from life is the girl reading the newspaper. I'll be more clear next time. Glad you liked it though.

oh, okay I see. This explains the "animation-like" look. But it's cool. That's very interesting. I mean I draw all the time, but I still don't have a sketchbook and a pencil in every situation at hand. Maybe I should do that too. So you draw everywhere at any time ?

    cheers!

    hi everyone.

I've started a tonal sketchbook and these are the first two that I did yesterday. The figure is not from my head...it's from a photo out of a illustration photo reference book (just fyi).

Hey everyone...just a mini update today. Thanks for the 4 star rating to whomever did it.

ApolloNuevo: Glad you liked that local. I really want to do a whole series of that drawings for that tower. Hopefully that will come soon.
    jacobsteel: Thanks man.

Cobi Hi: Yeah....those digipaints? My plan was to have a computer by now. You see, I'm looking for a new job and about a month ago, I thought I landed one but in the end it didn't come through. Once I do get a new job, I'll be able to get a iMac (or G5) about a month later...I need to save a little bit first. I can't wait though.

    shyamshriram: Thanks...i definitely intend to.

    Here's the updates for today.

You have some great style on you. Your characters really seem alive and not just static images. Very impressive. Do you have anything more finished you could post? Maybe something in color or even digital? I know you have the robot-sombie, but that was back in June, just wondering if you were practicin'. Like what I see, nice work!
