I like the colors dude
But think about those impasts more
cheers ... and thx for diging my SB
heh, thats funny. the thread says 4 stars...
heh.
wtf.
voted, brill stuff!
great looking drawings, I really like the lively shapes you use for your figures.
with that painter->photoshop issue, I think you must have been using some kind of specialized layer type or maybe an impasto brush? I would take a look at the layer settings and maybe flatten the image in painter before doing the save for web function in PS.

bwkeough: Thanks man. thanks for the painter tip as well. I think that's what it may have been too...i may have had my grain way too high and when I flattened it, it suddenly appaired.
asoir: thanks for the vote man.
Here are some sketches that I'm working on for the Mystery of Albesila: An Animated movie project that designboot is starting. The character name is Rauch.

just started painting the sketch above. still need to work on it somemore. his right side is giving some problems now that I'm actually painting it. i may need to redraw that side. And his face is a little cartoonish compared to the rest of him.

Oh man this recent stuff is great!
The coloured figure from post 126 and the last one are just tops.
Great progress since sk5 too man. Lovely!
last of your artwork is great!
I love it
Very good stuff! I like your concepts, and the original ideas. The last one knight is very good, but pay attention at the arm near sword, it is out of proportion, is to small I think, the color palette is great!
Ciao
Dreamworker: Thanks. I see what you mean. Actually I think both arms are a little wonky. But sometimes you're on a roll painting the bloody thing and you don't feel like going back to square one.
designboot: Thanks man. This project is fun. I definitely feel like I'm improving finally with painting, hell even drawing, in just the last few weeks or so. It feels like it's all coming together more.
j a k e: Hey thanks. I saw your thread in the lounge about improvement over the year. You got seriously better. That image (the one in you avatar) is awesomely lit.
Here's an update of the last one. Just finished certain parts, tone-down the face, added some texture. I may play around with certain colors, like the Red leather garment thingy (is there a name for that thing) that hangs down from his waist. I'm not sure red blends well with the yellows and blues.

just changing the character a little bit. Bringing his winter coat over his shoulder and making it look thicker. Drew his jaw and cheek bone a little more angular, and broadened his shoulders a bit more to make him look more heroic and stronger.
plan on painting him tomorrow night.

I love yer stuff! Honestly what got my attention is how you use that light blue facial hair. heheheh.
Keep it up man!
As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle being swept along is no longer enough.

Bunny: Thanks. The blue chin is something I learned from some other post here a while back. There was some famous demo of how to color the face. Blue for the jaw, reds for the cheeks and nose, and yellows for the forehead. I basically just got it from that.
here's another update of that knight character. Just painted the above sketch

Wow. I love what you can do with texture. Really great stuff!
wow awesome stuff! This thread is subscribed!
Your work reminds me of shows like MIB which had such awesome funky design. Yeah Ghostbusters!
Jonny Dark: Cool. I can sorta see that. Thanks for subscribing.
Sway West: I'm just now starting to incorporate other brushes into my pieces. Most of the texture you see in the above ones is by applying the sponge tool lightly over certain parts. I paint the armor completely, add values, then blot the texture over it.
marioucci:Thanks.
Dreamworker: Thanks bud. It's getting closer. I just need to make him a little younger.
Went back to doing some Egypt story work. Below is the main character, Setna. I'm trying to add more interesting clothing. Not too much mind you, because in the story he's supposed to become very cold and throws on that cloak. But just having him in a skirt is kind of dull. I added a light shall now. Also trying to come up with this abandoned temple.

My stars and garders! Amazing stuff mate, i really enjoy your ability to take a somewhat comic image and add realistic touches, accompanied with a rich earthy palette as well. i must lurk here more often...
timmy
Envisor: Thanks. That means a lot...cuz that's what I'm really trying to work on these days.
mrgrumble: aww shucks. Thanks, man

Very nice work buddy![]()
Hey Jason, nice SP! The knight character is going well, I'm really digging the armour colour.
Okay..i feel a little guilty. I haven't done any real art all week. But's it's been crazy at work and there was just so much going on..i have soo little time.
Designboot: Thanks, man. I'm working on some stuff for the Albesila project, they're just not really post worthy. just getting some ideas out. i'll have to post soon.
Jake: Thanks bud. I really enjoyed painting too.
Here's a work in progress sketch of a birthday gift i'm making for someone
