man your art is so solid thanks for sharing once again
man your art is so solid thanks for sharing once again
evidence, thanks mate!!
Onir, hehe thanks man.. yeah I think taking compliments is definitely harder than taking critism... you sort of kind of lose what you want to say..I think I am going to work on this, taking compliments without looking like a dick..
Teigrob, you arrogant? I don't think so, but yes, this compliment thing has sort of made me think a bit.. yeah I mean that lady would have had to think hard about saying "you are good" to a stranger, I should have struck a conversation but hehe, I am just not too talkative around people.. damn..
Fellah, thanks dude..you are absolutely right.. hehe wouldn't have thought it would be an issue.. it's kinda like "politics" in design industry.. you wouldn't think it would be such an issue but it is!!
rodrigo! Dude!!thanks man.. your work get me going a lot.. Next monday?? go NAS?? we had heaps of fun yesterday... yeah long story, tell you about it on monday. hehe
small update..some hand stuff, I think I need to check loomis stuff again, not quite understanding the mechanism behind it..
Some quick sketches with Form yesterday at QVB.. I remember this guy walking past Form, and saw his sketchbook, he looks over his shoulders and go "this guy is a sick artist!!" heheh.. Form had a massive smile on his face, it was quite funny.oh yeah people walking very very fast and kept walking into this clothing store...
this is while waiting for trains..
just some scribbles.. the usual "don't think just scribble" kinda stuff.

You really have some great sketches and I think I said before that I kind of like them more than the others. Not that the others are bad in any way, I enjoy them all, but the sketches are inspiring; seeing them makes me want to go out into the world and sketch all the goofiness.
I've always been awkward at taking compliments, too, especially from strangers. The one thing that I have actually been working on is to make eye contact and simply say thanks. Then see where it goes from there. I used to always just stare at my sketchpad and say something and it always seemed awkward.
It seems that I'm seeing a lot of hand studies, lately and that's great. Something that I need to work on. You've done some good ones here. One of the faces sketches would look cool as a relief sculpture with all those people staring out at the viewer.
wow, very very nice sketches here bumskee!
your lighting is looking fantastic, and your anatomy is getting better and better.
with your heads, always make sure the eyes are around 1 eye distance apart... it can be a little more, or a little less. some of your faces tend to have the eyes way too separated. other than that, nice stuff. keep it up-
Fuckin dig your sketches man.![]()
i can clearly see progress, wich is awesome !!
great stuff as usuall and thanks for dropping by my SB !
cheers and keep on updating!

I like the first one with its muted colors, not exactly flaming, but burning with a inner fire; a soul burner.
How long does it take you to do one of these digital pieces on average. I ask because I'm not very experienced with the medium and they look like they take awhile. I'm looking to get a wacom soon, so that I can play too.
Is that second guy writing his name in the snow?
I can't keep up with all the amazing work you've been doing. Hot damn...
I love the outdoor environments...I don't get to see those alot from you, and you handled them so damn well.
man you know how I just love all those pages bursting at the seems with studies..the figures, the faces, the hand studies...your brain is working hard.
I guess I should have asked awhile ago..are you still in school? Where would you like all this hard work to take you? I'm sure you'll achieve any goal you have...I'm just curious to see the man behind the bumskeeeeeeeeeee![]()

Ohhh, how nice. Love them.
I'm going to my third lifedrawing class tomorrow, can't wait.
Seeing you getting this far with these drawing groups.
Never stop, or I'll pull your socks down.
hugs! (you're not gettinga way that easy)
Man Im likeing the quicky life studies!!, KEEP the goods coming!!![]()
Beautiful life studies - Be interesting to see you work some concept characters from your head in that medium....?perhaps?
- Only 25...you're a child! I could be your father - if 3 year olds could spawn babies.
It's good that you are just concentrating on your skills for now, but with your talent, work ethic, and Australian charmI definetly think you have a successful career in the arts ahead of you. Just plant the seeds in the back of head, and I'm sure you'll find your way. You're just too good not to.

These 3 mins studies are great! The dynamic lines and the shading make them really interesting. keep it up!
Great SB <> I have really been missing something special here!
Figure, Head, and Hand studies all first class as are the locations quickies!
I will be back!
Your tearing it up with these sketches dude...can't believe what a matchine you are. Keep tearing it up man...Thanks for the kind words in my thread. Rock on.![]()
Great stuff Bumskee
really really good
The thing I notice in your work is that a lot of the faces tend to have similar sort of morose / bland expression. Not overly but just something I noticed and hopefully something for you to be mindful of. After all the face is really the first point of expression for most of the audience and should say what the character is thinking / feeling.
errr..I got stars..awsome..
Perre, nah I was just kidding dude, we already had this conversation remember?haha anyways, yeah have fun at the life drawing and thanks for the compliments and encouragements.
maxetormer, thanks dude!!!
loomer, hahaha, 25yr child?kewl.. yeah I am not too concerned about getting a job with my drawing stuff, I work at an ad agency so career wise it's not too bad, even though I whinge heaps about work I probably still go do the same if I had another chance. hah,
thanks for the constant support dude..
gizmodus, thanks. If you want to see some really really good life drawings check out main loops SB, he's one mean machine.. Thanks for the compliment dude.
mentler, thanks this means a lot to me, you being the master of anatomy..
britt, thanks for the kind words, well I am really glad our sketch group is so damn active, we always push and encourage each member.. sharing is caring.. hehe..
draw, thanks man.. yeah I know, the expression is rather blank.. I do have "book of expression" sketchbook where I am suppose to study expressions but only filled up 5 pages..better get cracking on that too.. no no you are right, I have to get into more expressions, better take a look at Tei's thread. hehe. thanks for the crit dude.
well small update, I was at the hospital today, very big hospital in the area, just had to do some check ups.. while waiting I sketched a little.. I swear I pull out my tiny ass A5 sketchbook everywhere these days.. my friends think I am going crazy. I took a photo since I don't have a scanner at home..i need lessons taking photos I think..

a little kid...wouldn't stay still for 2 seconds.. it was kinda hectic trying to draw him.. need to draw kids more I think.
![]()
just some people waiting..
![]()
attitude... I had this visualised but quite couldn't execute it..
![]()
I like the bold black look, inspiration from cotron's thread, love his line drawings.. but wanted to mix some shading.. again couldn't quite execute it..try again?
![]()
just browsed through EVERYTHING.
WOW.
seriously, there is an immense amount of progression in this thread. lovely, lovely works lately, as well. i love the "attitude" piece, you really expressed that emotion well. hmm.. just keep working on your life drawing and your full figure anatomy. let's see some hands and feet! keep it up-
hmmm, i really like your sketches - ive just gone through them all and see quite a progression. great lighting. also lik your figures too -- wel done.
bumskeeties: keep rockin the books man! thats it for now. cheers!
man im always diggin your updates
keep it up
awesome update Min, I love the expressiveness in your quick drawings you've done of life.
Something else I'm noticing is that you've got a solidity to the character designs you are doing in black and white/greyscale. Thats something thats missing from a lot of char designs, but yours seem solid and anchored. (no clue if that made sense)
Keep the updates coming, its a pleasure to see as always
and, take care![]()
