Butters' Evil Twin's Mildly Offensive Playground

    Starting my CA sketchbook...now.
First of all I'll have to mention it's been almost a year since I seriously had time to seriously draw, so I hope this thread will show some improvements in the near future .
Most of the stuff I'll be posting (or @ least some) is related to an unfortunately fictuitous game project/dd I started thinking about a few days earlier, and which will probably never be. Oh well, dreaming doesn't hurt nobody ...

    Unrelated. Succubi

This guy's riding a Damo -sort of a green camel-like monster with an attitude.

Same Damo rider. Oh no, a saurian!

Meet Michael and some tall furry guy I have no ideea why I drew behind'm. Guess he looked too confident

Desert grunt. Desert grunt firing at threat above.

Two of the main characters searching for stuff in all the wrong places

    Desert sergeant acting cocky

    Desert sergeant's dog actin' cocky

    Some d00d

    Cut-out

I know my scanning skills are at minimum, no need to throw that at me

I'm expecting and welcoming constructive criticism.
    Cheers!

I like the last one. I'd love to see the whole head one day, but it's good enough for now.

I think your characters' legs are too short though. Or their torsos too long. But cool pieces!

That first drawing is simply stunning, and the third is quite powerful...

    love your style,

and i disagree about finishing that last drawing, i think the unfinished look combined with the facial expression make for quite a feeling... great work.

I also really love your style, very appealing to my eyes.

My only crit is that the eyes in your last piece don't match the dark quality, and seem to lack detail. Considering the piece focuses on the partial face (and I love the drippy lines), the eyes should be more detailed.

But otherwise, I can't wait to see more!

Thanx for taking time and expressing opinion
Glickster: actually I only did that part cause I was in a very lazy mood by the time I got thru 80% of what's visible I was bored to death, why not admit it ...Regarding the proportions, I dunno, I gotta check, it's been a while
Gregory: thanx bro! I preffer the last one as it is too
EvilGummy: u're absolutely right. come to think of it, the skin texture could use some detailing too...now if only I could find that sketch...

WHat on earth are you on about?? That is the whole head!! Awesome stuff dude, I love the way you can look like you've messily hashed everything out with a byro, but in reality, it's totally clean. Luverly

    Mrdes - appreciate it
dirty_C - thanx! It's cleanliness (omg I think I just made another word up ) I'm after nowadays, I'm trying to get it to get along with my sometimes-too-rushed drawing manner.btw I checked out your work, it rocks

I'll try and make these updates as often as possible.

Father Ion, the vindicative monk. He's mostly inspired by Rabelais' homonymous character, the down-to-earth yet God-loving, wine-drinking always-cussing padre who, instead of striking fear into the hearts of the wicked, prefers striking the hearts themselves I always loved that character so I thought I'd pay a little tribute .For now it's a 15 min sketch I'll try and color in photoshop by mouse, wish me luck and patience cuz I'll need'em

    Fellah and Worthless, thanks guys.

    Afternoon update

Here's another shot at Ion, preaching the word of God to all the infidels... The so-called mistical/religious background behind these characters is pretty damn complicated to explain so I won't bore you with it (them) unless asked.

Here's the Abbot... he was semi-cyborged (oh god, again ) when his limbs had already withered. He makes up for hands with holograph-projected hands, not shown here.

Cant wait to get back to drawing! Wooh!

I like both those last posts. the legs feel a bit short in the Ion one and the chain is not as clear to me in the other as it could be. Other then that no real crits also liked the guy riding the Damo and succubi posts. rock on

    thank you Deez.
draw, I scanned the thing badly, there was more to his legs, but I was too lazy and innerved by my snailpaced scanner to do it again Btw those are not chains, they're rosaries, but I didnt expect them to look very clear in a preliminary sketch...

Well, I got me a crappy 15x15cm Genius tablet (heck, it sure beats a mouse) and started doing some coloring in photoshop...this is work in progress, but I think I'm halfway thru

    ...My hand hurts

Lemme know what you guys think. I'm still a n00b @ coloring in photoshop, it always seemed like such a chore using the mouse. Thank God for tablets, as puny as they get

Finally I got some time alone with the Intuous2 I got at work...Im not too pleased with how it came out, but considering I only had a few tens of minutes and it's my first drawing totally rendered in Wacom, I think it's ok.
Man, I gotta have one of these

you're a much better drawer than painter, which doesn't sit quite right with me. In my opinion you should carry all your drawing skills to the "canvas" as well. Try using small brushes and treat the painting more like a drawing, you'll get a greater deal of depth and character out of the final piece.

point taken. Its been only a little while since I seriously took up painting, I used to dismiss it on account of my graphic/drawing orientation
I'll be back with an update real soon.
