i used to have the same problem in trying to get the feeling of a body beneath a coat, as it almost always ended up looking like a someone behind a cardboard cutout. try to start with the shoulder furthest away, and use it as reference for the opposing.
good style, is it based on Auron from ffX?

well never really based a pic on ff. I just like making things look cooler than they are. Thanks for your help.
