whats up, decided to start one of those sketchbook thingies to se if THat could help me get better, i draw almost everyday so i reckon i will be able to update pretty often.

Hey, nice to see your artwork, luxun! Very nice - and you're only 15?!? You're going to worry some people on this site!
Some 2 cent crits...you need to work on anatomy a little more (of course, everyone does, including me). You're pretty solid, but you tend to neglect the wrist. Nice gestures, and very nice hair painting studies! I like! Glad to see you posting, keep it up.

I agree with Teigrob's assesment.

I also think you have a solid grasp on doing two point perspective. With a little more practice, I feel that you'll quickly move away from using the lines and do it by eye.

Anyway, keep at it and welcome.

one comment I might add, would be that when you color someone else's stuff, strive for some color variation instead of just flat shades of one color...

yeah, i guess i should play around more with hues. thats what you mean right.

Heh, I'd like to see more solid stuff, all your stuff is cloudy dude- And I wish I could do 2 point perspective that well. =P But yeah, try doing something in photoshop, or at least something clean in OC. Or maybe you should get a higher veriosn, but keep the one you have for online.

a little update, been doing a lot of oc networking lately so i havent been updating for some time but heres something






may be more of a speedpaint than a sketch but whatever


threw some quick colors on one of welsey burt aka wes8000´s sketchpages.

AHHHH now THERE'S some color variation... particularly on the wespage, those highlights have a yellowgreen, the midtones have a cooler green, and the shadows have a blueishgreen. NICE!!!

that robot speedpaint has some cool colors as well.

thanks joe, thats what ive been working on a lot lately, trying to get away from that iconographic way of coloring where a shadow is just the base color but darker.

wanted to update with this enviro i did half an hour or so ago, it took me 2,5-3 hours to do. dunno if i wanna work on it more but maybe.

Great colors on the last few, the contrast makes em look a lot sharper. You might want to add more detail to the landscape. Love the Wes paint over, I wanted to see what some of his pages would look like with color. Keep it up.

I like the pallette choice, but you should really try to clean up the actual style, it always looks messy and unfinished =( But keeep on truckin!

thats nice! I like ur use of contrast, maybe a lack of saturation in the background, and more on the creature, and more variation of hues could make it even more effective! not that I'd know anything about that though! i really like the way u've used the texture in that one. Well thought out! Other than that I'm glad u've starting introducing different surfaces and textures in to your work and it aint so muddy like the old stuff! keep it up!
