So how does this sketch trade thing work??

I read the first few pages as well as the previous pages, but can make no heads or tales of the situation...

I would like to do some sketch trades, to explore new subject matter that I would not normally draw, but lack a sketch group...

It seems this thread has deviated from it's original premise....

How does this sketch trade thing work?? Should I find a person on this thread to trade with??

I feel like the object of this thread was pretty clear at the beginning -

    1. Gather between 2-5 members (do the prelim set up work in a PM so that the thread isn't bogged down with all the inane 'I need a partner' threads)
    2. Decide on a 'leader'
    3. Each person designs a character, and submits the piece the others (don't just post it in the thread, that makes it messy as hell) within the deadline (seems like it's usually 1-2 weeks for the entire process)
    4. Do the redesigns, and submit those to the leader
    5. The leader then posts all the images in a single post to make it clean, and neat

While this whole image mash thing seemed like a good idea it did effectively kill the thread.

Anyway, I'm hoping with these few pointers this thread can get back up and running.

I'm really missing the work by Lukavi and DS.

    how about that?

    or even shorter:
    get a partner (or more)
    each one does a design
then each one does a redesign of the other's work
    post original and redesign here.

Hmm...sounds fairly easy. I love this thread so far. I've been looking through people's different depictions and it's really inspired my creativity! It would be awesome to get this thing going again!! ^^ For now I'll post my character and then I guess and I'll go out on my own and look for partner's or people can just PM me if they like.

Anywho, this is my character Locke:

Eeeehhh this sticky seems kind of messy and hard to navigate nottomentiondead. It seemed pretty cool too, but I don't know if it can really be salvaged?

Well, if someone wants to make a new art trade thread, I remember how they did it in an old art forum I went to. Basically, in the first post someone would post an art piece (their own original piece). The next person to post would also include their own original art piece in their post, and at the same time with said post 'claim' the person above them. That means they'd redraw whatever it was posted above them. When they finish their redrawn art piece they would edit the post they claimed the original art piece in and place the redrawn picture into there. Most people also sent a PM to the recipient with the piece, so they wouldn't accidentally miss it. And over and over again as posts go on (with 'OOC' posts skipped). So basically, post with an original piece and then claim/draw the piece above you. When you're finished, edit the piece into your 'claiming' post, along with a PM to the recipient. Rinse, lather, repeat.

I guess it isn't really an 'art trade' so much, since everyone was drawing someone else in more of a chain rather than a back-and-forth, but it worked just fine. Maybe this forum could try that out too? Would certainly be more easier to find someone else's stuff to draw, which seems to be a large problem.

    Well, just a suggestion,
    <3 ali

    What happened here!!

This was supposed to be simple!

You private message two partners, the leader makes a first sketch and the other two makes their own interpretation of it, send the sketches to the leader and the leader post the three sketches!

This is not a thread to post what ever the heck you like and try to find a partner. PRIVATE MESSAGE! No one shall post anything unless a leader already has the three sketches ready to post.

    We need some order here.

DO NOT post an art piece expecting someone to make an interpretation five pages later. No posting until the Leader has the three sketches!

And if you have partners please, try to post good quality sketches not just some random marker stuff with no shape.

Please read the first page carefully!

    Bring the Sketch Trade Back!!

    Anyone wanna trade sketches?

If anyone wants to tackle my cute elf girl in their style, I'll be happy to reciprocate! I need some practice drawing different types of things so any help would be greatly appreciated - and I promise my take will be more finalized than this sketch

    Thumbs up

hi groover i'm new on the forum nice to meet you.

    if this can help:

your negatives and positives shapes are prtty good. The composition is not bad either, the anatomy is fine.

    but

-the drapery is unreadable, even if it's just a sketch a litlle more attention wiil be better.
-beware the size of your hands(not the same)
-the chicha a lot more harder
but it's pretty nice keep going practicing it makes better

Well it's not much, but played around with her a bit. I'll post more once I get the chance to refine it some more after work.

Oh and nice to meet you. I'm kind of new so I figured I'd just jump into an ongoing activity. Let me know if I'm committing some sort of faux pas or anything.
