question: is it possible for you to show some pics, how you´re working?
i.e your steps from a sketch to the final "stuff".

Damn impressive sb! Your quicker studies are a pleasure to look at, like those last two and some of the speedies. The colours are juicy. Lovely and inspiring stuff, will revisit!

enviro's are promising, but your faces lack variation. its one thing to paint from reference, but you need that diversity in your work from imagination. ive seen that same nose and mouth and eyes on every girl of yours for the past 2 years not to poke fun, i work with what i know too, but it may be time to step out of your comfort zone and look at some differences in features. a good exercise is to draw and distinguish between the races - ie african, caucasion, asian, etc. how do their noses differ? how do their eyes differ? their skin tones? their overall anatomy? i wanna see a hot black girl from your imagination in your next offering, at the very least

Good job - what i do not like a bit are the colors in some of the pics you can try to make more contrast by the warm-cold method instead of dark\light.

not a hot black chicka, but still smokin good focus on the expression, especially around the eyes and eyebrows. subtle, yet effective. you are emulating one of the greats, after all. i can see a few niggling problems, mainly with proportion and placement, the jawline is the most obvious. are you flipping your canvas regularly? would like to see some more contact shadows around the left side of her neck to draw it out from the couch, and some warmer tones on her chest, but i guess thats really just up to personal preference and how much you really wanna polish this. i like a painting where some areas can be flat as a tac, but pop in just the right places, such as the face and hands. what brushes are you using?

hey sketchbook is pretty neat. Checked out your blog. A nice mix of different sketches. Portraits seem to be a running theme though. Maybe some studies of crowded places? drawing multiple figures very fast demands a gestural approach and is a good way to exercise rhythm and movement in an image. Curious as to whether you made some studies through tracing photos in photoshop, cos some of them are so sharp!! If not I apologise, tracing images is a good way to recgonise and appreciate light and colour as well as meticulous studying of the exterior constructs of a face or figure. I'm some sketchbook pages tonight. Not posted in a while.

I hear what your saying about being on a design course. My course as no drawing tuition at all!! You seem to be keeping on top of drawing though. I need to get a grip on that subject!!

    Keep it up!!
