Boogs sketching madness...updated 12-19: a dump of dumps

I hope to entertain some of you with my various mechanical designs and character concepts....

also in the somewhat laughably nobel attempt to learn a new trick on how to color digitally...hone my anatomy, and otherwise improve my "skills"

    well lets kick this pig

    ..the Landesknecht

    ...the Blitzwaffe....shades of Jin-Roh

    ... Toasty

    ..minus Mech

    ... A mech...merf...

    http://www.deviantart.com/view/18284668/ ....Terran Ghost fanart...

    hope yall folk enjoy...

NIce design and pretty good ink work.
The colored one is turning out nice, something about the front feet looks a bit strange - it works better on the b&w - maybe the leg is slightly too short, but the pose is cool.
    Keep em coming

    Thanks....

...yep the lower left leg on the colored one is tad shorter than the right....something I noticed after inked it and whatnot.....something that usually happens when I am inking something...

If its warcraft its probably either Metzen or Samwise....I'd guess it leans more towards samwise.....but I'm not too sure

Cool stuff. I think that I like the one you use for your avatar the best though. It has a very nice design to it. The second one from the top is a bit like Jin-Roh, as far as the head, but also nice. Cool stuff. Post something new. I will keep checking on your stuff.

Cool stuff. I'd hate to have to suit-up everyone morning in one of those though.. I suppose it's probably just easier to leave them on all the time. So, I'm going to guess that they can get fairly .. ripe. That lead me to my next conclusion. The gas mask helps that last guy to deal with his comrades. Makes sense I think.

    Keep em' coming.

@Craig....hmmm you mean the Character concepts....right

being busy with A/C repair (damn swamp coolers) and lawn work really cuts into ones sketching around time.....sadly

anyhow manage to pump out a rough sketch for a revision of an old idea....The Gustav....what was once a full size mecha is now a power armour

very very nice drawings you've got going on here, though most of your characters are in a very stiff, similar feeling pose.... it would be nice to see some life to these poses.

funfun stuff though man, keep it coming.

yeah...posing in general isnt really my area of expertise...I see em in my head in action but when they are put out on paper they end up in static positions... >.< .... that needs to change though....

dont worry as long as I have a left hand I will continue to churn out things

    the conception part is good...
the anatomy study part si worse... you should do more study at this level... with your imagination you could be great...
but no one can get to the top without study...

The pose...is a good pose, but in truth you still lack the anatomical knowledege to pull something like that off. Check my sketchbook, and try doing the same quantity of Loomis studies that I did. Most of those were done in one Saturday that set aside for Loomis. Completely turned my art around. The trick is that you have to forget everything that you think you know about anatomy.

I had a feeling about that....most of my knowlege of anatomy up until I came across loomis was through obervation of the body via tv, magazine, and starring at my self in a mirror....but studying the muscles in particular... and applying what I have noticed and observed has helped a tad....sadly I feel I dont really have to the spare time to just sketch from loomis cause I am usually busy with other things beit finding a job, running errands for my parents, or trying to get commissions done for other sites....whats left is acually practicing in complex pieces as this...cause in my opinions every piece is an experiment..

hopefully that'll change by the third quarter of classes at AIH (if I'm accepted)

Well, forget the comploex pieces and start turning out anatomy studies instead. Better use of your time anyway.

Well Saber...I'd rather do both at the same time...cause Its against my nature to just stop doing what I like to do....and anyhow...whenever I hash out a character I usually have Loomis open on my screen and its either the muscles pages or around page 50 or so....

    knives concept sketch....

having a problem with the serratus magnus.....and probably with other things I cannot see at themoment...

Well dude, worry about your nature when you're doing finished works and whatnot. Anatomy studies are what will enable you to fully unleash your true nature. How'd you lke to be able to effortlessly draw your mechs from any angle in any position with no ref? Anatomy will do that for you, with less work than you might think.

being as I already do my mech work without any reference whatsoever...maybe for a occasional armor reference

the bone Doctor visits The Aslyum!!

Good consistent work !!!!! think a little about a focal point in your drawings ~~~~~ try to direct your viewer where you want him to look !!!!! they cannot look at everything and won't look at everything ~~~~ if is the artist job to guide them where we want them to go ~~~~ when I look at your work I see a lot of skill I see a lot of detail and I really don't focus on any one thing because I really don't know where you want me to look!!!
