very nice indeed. well rendered and i like the texture on the cloth.
still - it seems like there`s a different light source for each character.
plus - the colors and light on the girl`s face and body don`t quite work together...her face looks kinda odd, too much conciler-and-make like.
other then that it`s one cool piece.
me like.

I totally missed that entry while checking M&S entries !
Great rendering job, awesome textures. However Too much empty space around characters : a closer point of view would have probably add some dynamism...
Anyway certainly an award winning piece.
While this is stunningly beautiful, she doesn't appear to be looking at anything interesting (somewhere above and to the left of the cage) and the look on her face is unreadable. She might be considering his shirt, "Did you buy that at Old Navy? Oh, you're getting the cattle prod... How many times have I told you that we only shop at Abercrombie and Fitch!?", or just daydreaming, "How can Lois not tell that Clark is Superman? I mean, they're just glasses... wait, wasn't I wearing shoes?"
Still, very striking.
nice job on the fabric.
i would make the gray shadow on her knee a warm color.
most of your other shadows on her are warm.
attractive! Cool realistic textures

I must agree with dogfood. I think you have wonderfull technique, but something deeper I couldnt find.
Thanks for the replies, they are much appreciated! This was an attempt, for me at least, to try and paint something a little more 'subdued' (I've just spent the last few months painting 'pin-up' style girls for some Videogame marketing stuff), and I wanted to try and paint something more 'real'. I'd never really tried to paint any cloth or whathave you, not to that detail anyway! Plus this was the first piece I've ever completed, fully digital, for myself!
If I never have to paint satin again, in my entire life, I wouldn't be unhappy!!
Chuck, mate: I was actually trying to have a slight difference with the light source for each character, She's supposed to be more 'detached', more a symbol of love. Thanks!
Arctis: Thanks for the comp pointers. I think I should have pulled tighter in on them, probably my lack of experience/confidence! I'll try harder next time!
Dogfood: Good point, well taken. I was trying to get a more ambiguous feeel to their expressions...maybe too ambiguous!!
DSillustration: Good point. I though that after I'd submitted the piece! Don't know why I did that...may have been something to with it being 04:00am, and my eyes were trying their hardest to shut!! BTW I love the work you've posted here!
Rockdraw, Danilo, cheers for the replies.
Anyway, enough of my inane banter, thanks again and the coolest thing about the whole contest is that its made me really want to paint/finish more stuff. You I will post again! Beware!
Cheers
Mack
