REVOLUCION! revolut ion
NO PC? Hehe off topic.
Personally I don't believe one console will lose out to the other in terms of hardware. Its the games that are important....like...which console has the biggest variety to suit the end user needs.
edit: And of course which corp has more money to advertise.

Killzon-errrr PS3 I mean. I havent seen the Nintendo side, but it looked like all handheld stuff. I guess the Gamecube is going to be a 150 dollar paper weight for the next few years?
Xbox well bigger memory stored!
huh?
Uhh, can I vote for the PS2 again?![]()
Why are people voting for the PS3?
I havnt seen any gameplay yet. Its mostly been prerendered and people are eating the bullshit. I want to see what its ACTUALLY able to do.

PS3 is the one for me.
I have my PC for everything else that xbox is offering.
darkcult
Once there's a game out that I HAVE to own, I will decide.
It's not the power of the system, it's what the game developers do with it. I mean look at Resident Evil 4, it's the most amazing looking game I've ever played, and it's on the game cube!
The new Zelda looks like a blast, and it's for the cube.
I'm digging the whole backwards compatability thing, most of the next gen consoles seem to be toting.
Although the XBOX360 is definately the sexiest console I've ever seen.

I tell you what, that motorstorm, if that stuff is actual game play....(tears of joy). That stuff is DOPE!!!!!!
I plan on sticking to my usual plan of console buying. When there is 10 games that have my interest then I will get it. Until then I don't. Even if I never get the 10 games I know that it will have at least some support etc. I finally bought an xbox this past october for that reason.
I watched all 3 unveling/press conference videos (well, kinda, I could only stand 5 minutes of the mtv xbox thing). But, the PS3 came off the best... I firmly believe the PS2 was the absolute worst hardware of the last generation (great game support reguardless), but it looks to be the best of the next.
Although, Nintendo hasn't shown any gameplay footage. I think it's fairly clear it's not gonna be nearly as strong as the PS3. In the press conference, the only comparison to the PS3 was that the revolution would be much cheaper and simpler to develop games for, but have more room for creativity. So, interesting features, but no strong power. They did mention full NES/SNES/N64/GC library backwards compatability (the first 3 through download/other means), which is probably enough for me to buy the console reguardless.
Revolution's the only one that doesn't look like ass, and 20 years of gaming history is orgasm-inspiring.
I hope they re-release NES, SNES, and N64 controllers to go with it, too. That would kick all the asses in teh cosmos.
but its kinda funny...doesnt it seem that the new nintendo revolution hasnt got as much press as the ps3 or xbox 360? I just noticed that, and I aint saying nintendo is crap. But I found it funny that ps3 has recieved significantly more coverage then xbox 360 (even when it was announced a week earlier). It just goes to show that lots of people are interested in sony's new monster hehe. Just check out the poll on gamestop.com . most people want to get ps3. I dont blame them. I'm too hyped up for it as well!maybe I can buy two ps3's and then sell one on ebay for twice as much (because everyplace will run out) and then make my money. So i will get a free ps3 . l33t eh?

it's mostly because nintendo didn't really show much about the revolution. no demos, no controller, no specs or anything. they just showed what the system itself looks like and talked about the backwards compatibility.Originally Posted by obid619

Nintendo isn't whoring their system out ahead of time, which I respect. We haven't even seen the controller, yet. But likewise, all we've seen from Sony are rendered demos of concepts, more-or-less. Nintendo, just a snippet of Metroid Prime 3, and I don't recall anything from MS, yet.
We can't rely on outrageously vague comparisons, either. "35 times the power of the PS2" is still only 35 times the power of the PS2. *snort* That makes it as powerful as what? The current Xbox?
And what about quality of workmanship, Sony? Heating issues, freezes, glittery plastic, those motherfucking disc read errors. I mean, what's going to go wrong with this PlayStation?
I wouldn't say exclusive. FF12 is on PS2, FF11(expanded version) is on Xbox360, and a new FF crystal chronicles is on Revolution. Square hasn't announced anything for PS3.
They showed a tech demo of FF7 on PS3 and a tech demo of an unnamed video on Xbox360.
Most importantly, Lost Odyssey is a VERY Final Fantasy-esque RPG (music by the guy who does the FF games, same producer too) that is coming to X360. Looks more likeable than FF12. Who knows where Square takes things.
yeah but FF XI and Crystal Chronicles aren't really FF games in the true sense.
And square did actually say FF will be coming to the PS3 after they showed the FF VII tech demo.
I finally caught the xbox confrence video, and I must say, I was very unimpressed. With the exception of GhostRecon & Need for Speed, most of the games look like they could be running on our xbox at home. And they also showed clips from a bunch of the new xbox games coming out, man, nothing even remotely rivoting there. They even showed a clip of a new ScoobyDoo game, SCOOBYDOO at E3!!! Comeon, this is the kind of game that slips through the release cracks, not the kinda of thing flaggshipping your main product. I also can't believe the lack of hot 360 titles they had, err didn't have. This thing IS still coming out this year right? They instead focused on how they are revolutionizing the industry by going after every persons wallet instead of there base consumer, (most of us here.) In other words, they are broadining there focus to include people who have no interest in games by adding a bunch of other functions that we don't need, because we already have computers. So you wont be buying a game machine anymore, it will be an all inclusive media machine. Kinda like the Wal-Mart of gaming. If you ask me, this is losing focus rather then gaining it. Im not impressed with Sonys ducks either, just show the games and shut up about everything else. I have yet to see Nintendos, but from what I gather its more of the same. At least they are usually all about games, even if they do involve hitting a bongo to make a monkey clap its hands or some such nonsense.
i love backwards compatibility - viva la revolution!
...so what if i'm bored, and ordinary?...
currently playing: Super Mario 64 DS, ICO (grrrr....)
Would be cool if Xbox360, PS3, Rev had some sort of contest, like a benchmark test / demo. Some math stuff, gfx stuff, loading time stuff etc.
Crash/Smash tests are fun to watch too.
Jamen jag tror att han skäms, och har gömt sig. Vårt universum det är en av dom otaliga spermasatser som Herren i sin självhärliga ensamhet har runkat fram för å besudla intet.
yeah, but then consumers might be able to make up their minds based on actual data about the systems rather than hype![]()

PS3, only because the PS2 power housed in the game area I like: RPGs, and I just have to believe with the support in Japan Sony gets, the PS3 will continue the trend.
Not to say I don't like the other systems, FPSs just don't do it for me, so as good at the 360 looks or plays, no games spark me.
I might get a Revolution later on, Nintendo always has some wonderful /fun/ games. But I'll wait untill there's a big enough library to plunk down the money.
Dead dog for sale - Skulldog Studio - Sketch Journal
I choose option 4: There is so much bullshit flying around I'll just wait till they are actually in the stores and maybe buy em all.
