    Post Freaky Gothic WIP

This guy was my second post on CA.

Here's a start of turning him into 3D

Built and textured in Maya, smoothed out in our in-house software (the hat is single-sided, hence the flat edges around the rim)

    More when it's done.

    Cheers

I remember that drawing. Kick ass translation to 3d so far. I like how...abnormal his head is. Definately not what I would have though lurked underneath that fabric. The flesh tones are nice too. Very sickly.

the only complaint i could possibly have is: where the devil is a website i can visit!? get one up! The drawing itsefl is incredible, and the model totally reflects that. I just want MORE!

Nice, we need more like u...

Beautiful man, its great to see a concept artist that can and will translate his shit into 3d. I think this is how the workflow should be, at least some of the time. People like you make it difficult for me to give up 3d and go strictly 2d, its like I need both, but all starts with the 2d, this is the medium to do all the thinking in, and then realization takes place with the model, should it be approved by the director or whoever is in charge. Absolutely finish this off more,

I guess it will be no surprise to hear that I think this is awesome, so I am with the crowd. I'd really like to see more drawings of him because we are looking at a head that is otherwise hidden to us CA'ers, but it's lookin sweet.

Do you have any wireframe views? Are you doing this for a particular project (movie clip or game?) And kind of poly limit you're working with? Are his eyes and mouth going to animate?

    Keep it up.

oh man, where did this come from!

thought this had fallen off the edge of the map...

anyway, nah, probably not get around to doing anymore on this chap. I've moved onto this guy now... started today, 1hrs work or so (with quick nasty auto smooth!), Maya:

lots of work still to do, but wanted to try and capture how I draw in mesh form... we'll see. Hopefully I'll update now and again.

    cheers.
