this is amazing addict, the self portrait is so damn cool.

The lighting around the eye/nose looks pro. IT would be nice to see the ref, match it up for likeness.

Great stuff though, ure rendering is great

    Hi,

    - seth1 : Thanks for the advice, I'll keep working on it

    - meeatu : Thanks, me too

    - cartoonfox : Thankx a lot! I definately will do more creatures. Working on it as we speak

    - Jamaludin : Thank You

    - PHATandy : Your support means a lot dude, thanks ! The portrait isn't from one ref photo. It are several combined. Got the line somewhat of 2 and I shade it a bit with ref from other pictures and let my imagination do most part

Here're a few gestures i did a while ago during life drawing. Each 30 seconds. Amazing how fast 30 seconds are gone ! Sorry for the bad quality, they were too big to scan :

    Hi,

Jason Snair, That fat kid, Shinryu : Thanks dudes! I'll post the finished SP after Prague!

Here's an old one : An ink painting of the street i live in, kept very loose. It was freezing cold outside when I did it and the water I was using actually froze on to my paper!! Had a nice effect haha- this is wat's left of it when I got back inside and it defrosted ... :

Nice studies and pencil technique. Reminds me I have work to do. I would watch the proportions on some of the "out of mind" drawings like in post #63. The demon is well drawn, but his hands looks smallish and his forearm might be a tad thin. Still, lot of talent floating around in here, keep it up!

superskillfull dude... i really like the quick gestures.. i have tons of trouble doing those.. i can get the one minute but, never under that... the ink washed painting is really nice... but, your realistic portraits are really superb...! Just a little thought about the imaginative drawing... I used to have a huge problem drawing from my imagination.. alot of my early drawings looked teh same... my GF would always say.. Draw something different... And whjat I learned is to just draw... draw some weird very light shapes... and be attentive to the forms being created... you'll see figures forming and images appearing... and then most of the time your hand does most of the drawing... Im personally one of those people who have tons of trouble being creative but, I think alot about my drawings now and are more patient.. that seems to help alot.. also.. really diving into an artist that you admire and just read the artwork created... things start to pop in your mind... techniques and ideas... i get alot of ideas when im laying in bed right before fallingout... maybe have a small notebook and the side of your bed to jot down some notes for ideas actually thats a great idea in general.. ok, im rambling now..thanks for sharing..
Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd

haha, I do the exact same thing. I first started doing it because I couldn't sleep, kept thinking of the same idea over and over, writing it down helped me finish the thought.

All these head studies look good. Your friend's portrait from Sep 19 looks exactly like Frank Sinatra. One thing to work on would be light on the basic forms, which is explained in Loomis's "Successful Drawing", that'll clean up your rendering and get rid of the unnessessary marks. The blue painting looks really cool, that kind of watercolor painting is worth further study.

    ‡‡‡‡‡ Prague ‡‡‡‡‡

Still in pain that I did not get to instruct in Prague ‡ will put together major US annual workshop myself ‡ with major league figurative instructors

Your short pose work is very strong, as is the one long pose ‡ the long pose has lost a little vitality but that is a common problem ‡ and since none of us wish to be common I tell my students to do thumbnails and studies until the model gets (relaxes) into the pose ‡ the pose changes a great deal for the first 10 to 15 minutes <> on very long poses I have my workshops members go through the whole first setting of 25 or 30 minutes just doing thumbnails and shorter drawing from 2 or 3 angles so that they really understand the pose

Sorry about the crappy way of saying good byes at the airport. I went to look for the right port and then the airport staff asked me to come and x-ray my stuff and so on. But it was great to see you in person there in Prague.
