There is a lot of improvement evident here. The last 3-4 updates especially look good. The faces and anatomy studies are especially strong. Did you use ref for the anatomy studies?
    Keep at it!

Hi, Farvus ! Lot of good studies, here ! I dig the stance of your characters, in a general way. It's energic, I think ! You study from Hogarth ? Congrats for that, you're courageous ! Or I'm lazzy (laughs).
    Cheers, dude !

    Alday.J, hamb6960 - thanks.

I want to improve my line control so I started to draw this geometric stuff. I have to be careful beacause there are parallel lines all the time. In addition lots of ellipses and different kinds of curves.

No. 121 - Third part of constructing. I didn't put much thought into it. These might look like some industrial areas from bird view

The no ruler perspectives are pretty accurate. Figure drawings are coming along nicely, just remember to draw some females too.

I changed my mechanical pencil. New one is much lighter and I feel the grain of the paper while drawing with it. It helped a bit

I wanted to put back tablet till I get good at natural tools but I think I'll never be fully satisfied. That's why I decided to regularly post single speedpainting along with some pencil sketches (and I hope that I will be able to stick to it )

No. 128 - Figure studies from Hogarth's book. I have only few pages left. When I finish them, I'll do more female drawings.

Speedpainting. 14 - It was over an hour and the result is terrible

what I love about CA.org sketchbook forum is how you can see an artist grow in skill.
It's very motivating to see these evolutions.

In your work Farvus it's very noticable. Great improvements.
One of the better sketches so far is the one on the top of this page, with the roman fellah.

    Keep on postin.

I did't post anything in recent days beacause I was learning a lot for driving licence exams and doing some urban planning for my architecture studies.

I think I will minimalise amount of shading in my next drawings. What I'm trying to find all the time is compromise between 3d rendered form and lightness/freshness. It's something like in THIS fantastic Ingres' drawing.
For now I also try to avoid any comic-like stylisation. It's nice but I would rather experiment later when I know that I can always go back to more "traditional" style (if such exists).

Here's what I've done for today:

Self portrait archive (my last post) - Another self portrait. It's in my new thread for SP's

No. 132 - No ref doodles.

SirGreenSock - Thanks for comment!!! Yes, I'm left handed.

Can't reply without some sketch so here's new one. I tried ChrisMayernik's method of practice (it's in his sketchbook). Used standard windows screensaver with images slideshow. 2 minutes for every photo (in screensaver settings) and 15 files in the folder which gave me half of hour for constant drawing. I had to concetrate on most important shapes. No details and great challange. I think I will try again next time .

    No. 135 & 136 - Ugly but I like experiments .

uhh, that's a cool excercide, man!! Do many many of these faces and you'll improve faster than you think!! Well watch the proportions and the correct placement of features. If I were you I wouldn't care as much about if for example the eyes look the same way like on the photo but I'll definitely try to put the features in the right place as quickly as possible since this is what makes a face look "right".
Good luck mate, I am really excited to see more of this excercise
