My favorite is the pencil sketch of the woman. For not drawing in pencils for quite a while it shows promise that you could make big improvements in the near future. When pencil sketching you might want to try a few different styles, experiment with some clean confident lines here and there. When you get the Bridgman books make sure to do some drawings from it, if you are diligent, it will improve your form! well, good luck. The more you keep posting sketches, the more advice/comments you will recieve. It helps if you are having a problem to ask specifically about it too!

I would recommend it. Get something that is not too hard, but not too soft and smudgy. Maybe a graphite in the lower B's, look around. It is mostly a matter of personal preference. I prefer wood pencils because I like thick lines. There's nothing wrong with a mechanical pencil, but if you are gonna keep the pencil drawings up, try to get a lead that will let you get darker values easier.

    hey, dude!
All your charakterdesigns are quite nice but I think that you should do moremoremore anatomystudies. The ones you posted are a good start but you need to do more of them.
One advice I can give you for your digital work is to reduce your smooth brushes! When you use smooth brushes only the whole image will look very blurry and some kind of "unsharp". Try to use brushes with hard edges and I think your digital works will look much better. Of course it´s difficult at the beginning but keep on practising!

hey man those aren't bad at all. It's good to copy bridgman drawings. Copying them helps you understand the structure, and they way they are put together...helps build a better eye for proportions too. Did you get the big book "complete guide to life drawing" or whatever? it's pretty good too! I'd like to see more of those kinds of drawings from you.

-fyi: it's kind of hard for me to see that last drawing...seems a bit washed out, either it's the scanner or my monitor. Could be that you're drawing really lightly too.
