killermachine - Thanks, I highly recommend it. And in particular this seems to be working so well because his style of sketching is so similar to mine...but his stylization is different enough to make it a challenge. So find an artist you love, that is just enough like you to make it a fun challenge, not a head-banging experience.

surus - Thank you! I shall endeavor to continue with the cute characters...eventually.

Asatira - Yes, they were all well meaning...but all combined were sufficient to squelch me for awhile. Just took awhile to start stretching again.

More Mucha...I'm afraid I'll be copying him for awhile. I'm enjoying it, and it is challenging. I *might* try my hand at doing something Mucha-ish for CHOW, but we'll see... This particular piece had to be redone from the waist down, because I let myself stay zoomed in too long. Not quite used to working digitally yet, and the pitfalls thereof...

I said I'd be on Mucha for awhile. I wasn't kidding...although I wasn't anticipating this one to take as long as it has. Right now I'm in the process of inking it - another fun exploration of Manga Studios - but here's the sketch.

And here she is inked. *phew*!! What a job. The daisies in particular drove me to distraction, until I got used to them. I was going to do some tone stuff too...but frankly, I wish to move on. I'm sure you all wish me to as well.

What an incredible sketchbook! I think the mucha copies are a great idea to help you improve and make sure you don't get stuck in a certain kind of style. I love what you've been doing though, your characters are brilliant (freddy is adorable!) I can't wait to see more of your stuff.

I love it. Mucha is one of my all time favorite artists. Looks really good... like everything else in here.
