Good work on the last ones, the b/w one of the guy is great, you made his eyes small on purpose I'm guessing? It is kinda hard to tell what's going on in the mountains, so I gotta agree with pixel. My advice would be to do some basic exercises in oil with simple objects, it's easier to learn if you do monochrome stuff too. Keep up updated.

Wow, really beautiful work. I really like your landscape paintings, especially the ones with the subtle impasto. It works quite well.
The progress pic with the girl looks great, i like the lighting, but her knees look misshapen.

Hey, the last one is a good study.
A lot of folk might be put off by object studies, but personally I'm coming to realise, that form and lighting is everything..hence the old "boring" teachign of colour theory and study of pears, oranges and apples.

That painting of the fruits ( parons??? ) has really good brushwork on the fruits, only thing might be that the composition is a bit dull.
Overall theres a mood in your paintings i cant quite grasp my mind around, i like it and seems like you are motivated and work for it.

So keep up the good work

Helllo, JustinBeckett! You are one hell of an artist! I think you have amazing abilities to express yourself, with no limits. And great painting/drawing skills.
I really feel you'll have a very bright future with condition working hard and have all stars in the sky in right order.
Girl in boots looks very interesting, very confident and with right for life attitude

. You made her look very attractive. I like the pose, colors, costume and how she looks from beneath, kind of challenging, provoking. I wish her face was a little bigger and more detailed. The rest of her made more carefully. In general, it's a great painting.

I like the guy in big comfortable coat very much. He's just perfect. So much straightforward attitude and this meaty complexion. Just awesome! I took him. OK?

I like this environment and that you added human figure to it. it makes some story behind the painting..." One morning I decided to forget about all these annoying little things which dried up my happiness, took my umbrella and went for a long walk in mountains between sky and grass"...

Girl with chapped lips. that's great painting. Very fragile, vulnerable personality. Want to hug her and give her some cloth, She is very nervous and scared.

Pears, Very earthy and fleshy. My friend just saw them and love them right away. Me too. Very truthful hues.

Bourgeois in a fur coat. Oh, again, a great very moody portrait. Very good catch of character. Really, that kind of quality of a great artist, you have it in you.

I am going to start posting more studies/drawings based on concept design, creatures/characters, environments/worlds, etc, as well as anatomy, maybe some perspective stuff, etc, just my studies, but yeah lots more of that stuff, i will be posting paintings as well, this is something i just have to do!

hey, nice zorn studie, u got it pretty well done.. i prolly should do some studies on that guy to since i get free passage to the zorn museeum here where i live

the other paintings look good too u seem to get the lightning well tho u could prolly put some more saturation(?) in the paintings to make it more fun

By the way to those who were asking, my website is back up now. I will update this sketchbook with more work coming soon, im studying and practising more though, so when i update it will be with lots of studies/work.

Just wanna thank, all those who have commented on my work, and most of all those who continue to, You keep me motivated/inspired to do more work. Thanks guys!

Did this quick tonight in 1hr, i needed to do it just so i could get back in the mood, i kept wanting to draw and i would just sit here, then when i would go to draw i would fuck up and get mad then stop for a bit try again fuck up etc. Its because i havent drawn in sooo long. But then as i continued to draw more and more forcing myself i started to do it again. For the next day i am just goin to be drawing random shit, just copying it. Just so i can get my copying skills back with more accuracy, its been a while and im rusty. So all day tommorow is drawing from copying images. After i do this, the next day i think i will start on Anatomy, and really studying it, drawing it, and remembering it. I need to get thi s shit down, i want to get good, i always say this but this is it, im smackin myself in the face and getting to work. I have already set myself up for it. And on top of it i have 2 weeks off work which will help alot. As well as workin on my anatomy i will practise through some of the CA Academy Assignments, or maybe even do these first cause they are really good to learn from. Note to everyone that watches me, this is it now like i said im really goin to start learning shit, so i wont be posting paintings every single time now, there is going to be studies and screw ups and nice drawings, nice paintings, bad drawings, bad paintings. I dont care i will post it all, i want to share my learning process with you all. And i want to see myself the improvement i hope to get. Actually i don't hope i know it will happen if i work hard at it, so yes, now is the time. Im starting from where i said. I will post stuff as much as possible and very soon.
