CA Founders, Umma callin' you out!! (ULTIMATE thunderdome)

Thats right, I've got the ultimate thunderdome right here. find out who of the original seven CA front page artists is the baddest and best artist of CA history!

    Here are the rules:

In ONE giant sketchbook, Jason Manley, Android, Jaymz, El Coro, Spinefinger, Feng, and Puddin'head EACH draw/paint an entry. Once everyone is done, the sketchbook will be mailed to ME no later than the twelfth of September, 2005. Once recieved, I will post all the images and pass judgement on them!

    Subject Matter: "something cool"

Prize: uh...a drawing from me? It can be anything! How awesome is that?!

yeah so the due date is 9-12-05...I'm sure you're all chomping at the bit!

    Let the best artist win!

    heh heh...

prob is coro had that sketchbook and even a two page spread he did for you..then he filled it up. looks like we gonna have to start over.

    flakey artists...all of us.

Until then, the Directors of Conceptart.org are providing the MEMBER community with a tastey instant messenger tech which will go online in a matter of days. This is the first step of the collaborative teaching technologies which are being implemented. Discussion of Art on our site is about to become even easier.

    back to the scheduled programming....

Something I thought about for quite a while is to challange myself to do do some paintings/drawings in different styles. Toss all my preferences aside. Would be fun if others did the same, to see how close they can get.

    • Classic art (nude girl on couch/or standing, small tits, pear belly, flimsy drapery). ArtRenewal | couch
    • Foster/Hale -ish (The palette, crispness, hard shadows, people in wierd motion, maybe a robot and a skinny twisted man and strange floating objects)
    • A degenesis character (untidy but accurate pencil/ink, random morbid armourparts/wardrobe, nice pose/anatomy)
    • Generic Manga (flat colors, clean, not pseudo or euromanga) | Various mangas
    • Generic American comic style (inked, lasso gradient colors)

Just some directions I need to expand in. Like I said it would be fun if we agreed on a list and made some sort of thread/gallery for it.

The candidates for the list should represent directions that are a bit extreme (for you), not a bit of this and a bit of that.
Classic art has little room for artsyness like splatter and brushstrokes and general styling stuff, whilst Foster's style pushes the graphical part with the black shadows causing contrast and readability.
Markos style pushes the point that the general construction of things is more important than being pedantic with the lines. There's other examples like Bisley, and Egon Schiele maybe. Loose but accurate. I need to learn this.
Manga is harder than you think, and Comic style is hard to do because you must know what can be transformed into a line and not.

Jamen jag tror att han skäms, och har gömt sig. Vårt universum det är en av dom otaliga spermasatser som Herren i sin självhärliga ensamhet har runkat fram för å besudla intet.

    Muhahaahaha!!

No, no, no, Jason, I'm sorry to say that coro is going to have to part with all of those drawings, after all, I don't remember a limit on the number of drawings each artist could contribute... Just chalk it up to his overwhelming generousity! just have him make some hasty xeroxes of whatever art he can't stand to part with, then tape another pad on the back of that one for everyone else to draw in. Problem solved!

Yessssss! now my dream of bathing in El Coro art can finally come true!

Just kidding, of course. Just thought I'd give the thorn another twist, heh. Carry on, Massive Black.

    damn I'm an ass-hole...

And I'm totally up for a series of art like that, prom. Name the time and place...

Jason, wicked! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us, taking art community to the next level!

Would be cool if this thunderdome is done, especially if the book would be present at Prague!
