Something I thought about for quite a while is to challange myself to do do some paintings/drawings in different styles. Toss all my preferences aside. Would be fun if others did the same, to see how close they can get.
- Classic art (nude girl on couch/or standing, small tits, pear belly, flimsy drapery). ArtRenewal | couch
- Foster/Hale -ish (The palette, crispness, hard shadows, people in wierd motion, maybe a robot and a skinny twisted man and strange floating objects)
- A degenesis character (untidy but accurate pencil/ink, random morbid armourparts/wardrobe, nice pose/anatomy)
- Generic Manga (flat colors, clean, not pseudo or euromanga) | Various mangas
- Generic American comic style (inked, lasso gradient colors)
Just some directions I need to expand in. Like I said it would be fun if we agreed on a list and made some sort of thread/gallery for it.
The candidates for the list should represent directions that are a bit extreme (for you), not a bit of this and a bit of that.
Classic art has little room for artsyness like splatter and brushstrokes and general styling stuff, whilst Foster's style pushes the graphical part with the black shadows causing contrast and readability.
Markos style pushes the point that the general construction of things is more important than being pedantic with the lines. There's other examples like Bisley, and Egon Schiele maybe. Loose but accurate. I need to learn this.
Manga is harder than you think, and Comic style is hard to do because you must know what can be transformed into a line and not.

Jamen jag tror att han skäms, och har gömt sig. Vårt universum det är en av dom otaliga spermasatser som Herren i sin självhärliga ensamhet har runkat fram för å besudla intet.
