help with postings?

i tried posting some pics on the forum yesterday but they didnt turn out, tried someservers recommended by some people, brinster and cuztomise.org, but the pics still wont work.
or is it with the codes?

some help please......this has been bugging me for these 2days.

I don't know what you've tried already, but here's how I do it:

I have some server space at my former ISP(they let me keep my homepage space there, even though I've switched ISPs, if I pay them a small fee every quarter), about 50MB.

I use an FTP program to upload my images to that server, which also holds my homepage.

So I have created folders on that server, in the area that is mine.

Then it's a simple job of selecting the images I want to upload, and selecting the folder on my server where I want the images to be.

If you've done this, all you have to do here, is to write in the address directly to your image.

But you also have to include the [IMG] tags for the image to show up in the post, otherwise it will show up as a link(which will also work, but the image won't display directly in the post).

So, as an example, here's an image from my server:




As you can see, the image shows up in this post.

Yes, you've written the coding correctly(or rather; you had before you changed it to { } to show us how it was typed), but it still doesn't show, so either the server is down, you've somehow mis-typed something, or the image isn't there.

OR, as the case seems to be here, the website you've signed up with doesn't allow offsite linking.

That's the message I got when trying to paste that URL into my browser address bar.


It seems you've got to post the URL to your space instead, and tell people what link(s) to click from there, to see the image you want them to see.

so the problems with the site then? dang, it seems every site i tried has this problem, so any recommdations for free servers that allow off site links? i'm too poor and too young to own a credit card......
