    Hey,
Just checked your latest pages. I have to say the hands studies are looking real good. I'm understanding the mechanics of that appendage, as well.
We got some good studying up ahead.

wow, sketches on the last page look really good, you're improving a lot!
I like the handstudies, too. and the faces look a lot better in your last update.
your rendering looks a bit rushed at times, not giving enough credit to linework that looked pretty good already. take your time.
and now you better update, last one's been way too long ago!

    Hi Icaro,
I agree with SprayNation. I would give the same advice.
Construction is important as is gesture. And I agree, you can explain alot with just line in simple overlaps and shapes. Until this 2 D lay-in with line works, rendering won't help explain your drawing.
All marks that you put in last should explain the marks that you put in first. Drawing from masters like Bridgman will also give you a library of lines to design a figure with. Keep studying Brdgman, Loomis for anatomy, proportions as well as design. Also keep in mind symmetry, especially in the face. Eric Gist is an excellent guy to study from, too. See how he connects his gesture lines to pick up different sections of the body.

You are working hard. With a bit of specific focus on basics, your concept characters will take on a different level. More power to you and your studies.

great progress!! The important thing is that you focus on proportion and anatomy rahter than rendering. Thats if you dont have much time to draw like me ;.) then its important to focus on one thing.
Draw your own hand a 100 times in a week and you'll be much further. Dont forget to draw the hand from your mind, too. It helps you to memorize it much faster.
And draw a lot from life, at cafes or at the subway. It trains your quick memory and sketching ability

woah, someone here is dedicated, just checked the last 4 pages, big amount of improvement, i agree with the others about spending less time on the rendering, however i think rendering also trains your brain with form and structure since you need to think about those when placing your values. Cant give any crits, ill try to do as much studies as you do and run hide somewhere

You are doing great my friend. Just keep on drawing, try to think of what you are drawing instead of copying what you see. Not saying that is what you are doing.

Have you heard about an artist called Villpu? He has a really good way of drawing form. He explains things really well and I think you would benefit from listening to his advice.

Keep at it, you are progressing great

Loomis in Portugues! That's just awesome. Icaros, you're dedication is inspiring me! Great work in here, great energy.
I will 2nd Hurricane's suggestion; as you study, think - What types of lines was Bridgeman using to describe a form. Example, where does he use overlaps, thicker lines.... Analyze how he draws volume.
This is the thinking process I use when I study any Master. How was there procedure different then mine.

Your copies are good. Many have nice flow.
I suggest finding a long line, if possible, to connect the flow from upper to lower body. I'm looking at the silhouette in these examples. I'm using your figures in the last image in post #265 as examples. Just suggestions to further push gesture.

Left Fig - You have a nice flow in front, chest to belly to crotch. Front leg also has a nice unity. You could even connect the back leg from the extended arm & rib to flow through to the front of leg all the way down.
Mid Fig - Focusing on the right side; arm flow line through rib, rib cage to leg, and from this point all the way to heel to toes. You can find the big gesture on the right side of this middle figure. One giant C curve. Sometimes if the figure doesn't have it, you can force it to flow (part of designing your drawing).
Right Fig - You could push (even if it feels like exaggeration) a nice S curve from left side - head & neck & rib down to crotch could be one C curve. Picking up right hip an leg which would then form a longer S curve throughout the body.

Anyway, keep adding to this powerhouse study thread. Doing a great job.
