    sketchbook a la bren

    elvis.

there you go, cheap comics, anatomy/marker work, request work, and elvis. it's all you could ask for.(or something like that...)
oh, and the arrows on the comics are there because i have a short attention span and tend to draw panels wherever i want them to be sometimes.
    scorpion? -laughs-

Yeah, everyone talks about anatomy without thinking that maybe, just maybe, not all humans arms are exactly three heads, or that the body is seven heads, or that the upper bod is 1.75 heads. Keep it real how you want to, without going crazy. Draw some more of those darn comics, I'm serious!

    from reference

    from memory

i always have troble with the muscles on the side of the body so i decided to work on it.
and klinesmoker, when i say anatomy i usually mean muscle and bone structure. i see what you're saying about the standardized models though, and i think you've got a very good point.

thanks for the comments, and as for anatomy, it's a combination of going through medical diagrams and staring at myself...
...there's also a lot of guessing until i get something that works right.

    yo dude, what up?

your girl with the cut-off tank top and the low-cut jeans...either her upper arm is too long or the forearm is too short. her wrist should come at least to the top of her shoulder...watch out for that next time. lovin the stuff; keep up the good work.

i like the style of the comics, but they don't read like they should. for example, you shouldn't need arrows to indicate the flow of the panels. if you do, then it fails (in my mind) as sequential art. the first one: you start out in the upper right corner and go to the left. this is backwards, unless it's in a language that reads from right to left.

again, i like the style, but think you should work on the delivery. read Scott McCloud's "Understanding Comics" and you'll see what i'm talking about.

Referring to your image of a girl doing a handstand on a wire, the girls hair isn't affected by gravity.

    woah.....

You seem to master one thing at a time.... I can't get over how awsomely drawn your lil' ongoing story is.....It's uncanny......

Usually, you have to be amazing at realism before you can styilize something so much and have it look sweet........

I don't want to sound like I am ragging on yer' anatomical works or any of the others......It is just obvious you are amazinly better at the first,,, maybe it gets more of your time and patience....

codakromek - yeah, i've worked on anatomy a lot, but i've never really put myself to getting things right. i tend to lose focus quickly... i love drawing random crap though. and i'm still amazed at how good at realism most everybody here is...i mean...wow.

Scarn - i had it right on the first rough sketch but i screwed it up when i re-drew it. i do that a lot. grrrrr. if only you could keep the vague perfection of loose sketches, right? well, that should come with time. thanks for the comment though, i have to start watching myself more on that.

Prehistoric - actually, i do know how to sequence panels and even how to space out time, but on these i choose not to for some reason. honestly. mostly i think it's because it's just things i do to pass time, so i start drawing wherever on the page and add to it in an aesthetic (spelled that wrong didn't i?) sense. plus i like the arrows in there for some odd reason lately. yeah, i know it's retarded but it keeps me occupied during study hall...
i've never thought about these comics from the reader's perspective though... hmmm i guess that could cause problems.

purb36 - WHUTUP HOMEPHONE!?! wow...i didn't even notice that. thanks. the upper arm IS too long. i'll have to watch that.

thanks for the comments everyone, it's much appreciated.
