Why do you even keep trying man? If you continue to produce this work, you'll never get anywhere. Man, I heard you were bad, but I didn't think it would be like this.

    .....
    Awesome work, really.

Hi, Hurri. . Ahhhh, you treat me so nicely. So sweet of you. I'm very grateful. What can I say, you are holding the title being the nicest on the site in my eyes. Thank you for that.
So, "it's not mila jovovich", hmmm, . Say Hi to her .

Well, you know, you saw everything, every movie and my silly character begins acting up, an excitement of the hunter, you know. I need to find some movie, a good movie you never saw. One of my favorite, absolutely flawless movie "Cabaret". Impatiently waiting for the negative answer . I"m half joking. But I do like to play games. . not video games, brainy ones, heheh.

You once wrote in my sketchbook very interesting observation about my drawings. about desire to control. It's striking comment you know, outstanding. I'm thinking about it sometimes. Could be true. But still luckily I have to say , human personality is very contradictional, it got all ingredients in it. so... We can't tell that everything is just so, it's always nuances, fluctuations. Don't you think? I'm probably talking to myself again. Sigh.

Back to awesome update. Wonderful, Hurri, really beautiful. The tornado-like painting is gone, but current manner is even more beautiful, much more mature. . Colors are most beautiful thing I ever saw on this week, they are glowing, you know, they are so bold and subtle in the same time. I too would love to know how you search for needed shade. Do you have some kind of collection of them opened when you paint, or you use just regular PS colors and then experiment with saturation and hues?
Lovely. Foreshortening is awesome and you emphasize it even more dissolving the farther from the viewer view in the air. So great. Really makes creature protruding forward from the page.
Well and many other great things. the weight, heaviness of the body, the little face, the textures, uneven surface of fins. so much interest for viewer. And finally I found at least 4 faces in this creature. Very cool.
    OK
See you. All the best. I'm fine as you see, very chatty. I'm sorry i write so much, I got involved too easy.

Great one, you're the lord of focus
Do you remember the fish Lunch drew at the bar in stockholm, the one we turned upside down. That's a fishy idea-
The fins on it has a very nice color, and the scales above the head is great, makes me want to draw a crab

I did about the same, except you can skip the beer. I took my drivers licens about a week ago, so I was driving people

This would actually fit in very well with the COW for this week.

    A couple of crits.

while your digital painting skills are fantastic, your perspective/foreshortening is a bit sloppy. Check where the midpoint of the creature is, and you'll see that you have the front parts leaning to its right while the back parts lean to its left. Not that there's anything wrong with having that, but the head that you gave it is straight forward.

Second, it looks like most of the colors you're using are around the same level of saturation. Paint on a couple of layers for a little bit, then up the sat. on some and lower it on others. You'll see the difference immediately as the creature jumps out from its surroundings. (unless you were going for camouflage, but since you didnt' say so, I'm assuming you weren't.)

Last, I know you like soft edges, but toss in a hard edged brush every once in awhile! We can only infer where the creature begins and ends; it's like looking into a fog.

about your sketchbook, well i agree with you about the fluctuation but there is still some sort of "rules" that defines different people.
i choose colors when i paint on the fly, choose them with my eyes in the colorwheel. Hi, Hurri. You didn't see Cabaret . I feel such a peace in my heart for the moment. oh, it's gone. OMG, that's no good. it's a beautiful, passionate, truthful, artistically flawless movie. It's hard to believe for me that human mind created it. So much beautiful and wise things about human nature in it. So truthful, and so bright. Bob Fosse created this movie. Did you hear about him? This guy sold l his soul to evil, I can tell, nothing was sacred to him, but nevertheless I' m happy this movie exists. If I will be left on some island in the middle of nowhere with working TV set and DVD player and movie of my choice, I would prefer it to be this movie, one of the first to grab. See it, Hurri, it will enrich you in any outcome, artistically in the first place.
I'm not talkative person at all. Even in Russian, I don't talk much. So it's not an excuse, buddy. But I'm OK as long as you say something . I just can't talk all alone, it's boring.

About people being in the end certain type of personality. Back to my student's days. We had some experiment going on, for about 2 months. The meaning of it was to take eggs from the wild ducks and raise the little ducklings until they fly, watching them as a group. Their behavior. Well, besides some other very interesting things we all observed this: in any group there was always certain distribution of roles, of course they always had a leader (bully). Well, it was some accident and the leader didn't survive. Its place was taking immediately by other duckling, who didn't show any capacities to lead before. So who knows what kind of secrets our brains are hiding from us. I do understand what you are talking about. I just want to tell that our potentials are probably huge, more than we are aware about. The other interesting observation from this summer was that if some of the ducklings hurt itself somehow, broke a leg or something, it didn't have a chance to survive. Not because of the life hardship, no. The conditions were artificial, we, humans were always near. The thing was that its peers felt that it's different and they were literally destroying the former member of its group, endlessly pinching it. It didn't die from disease, but from their attitude (fear or hate it was. better to say some sort of xenophobia). Well, that's some to no art related information.

Back to art, finally. Sorry for being so shameless.

Well, I always love your little fantasy folks, their noses are so big, they could use it more than just a nose. they could hold the door by it, for example. My favorite are all characters on the forth page and elf king. they are all funny and very sympathetic. There is some sweet nature in all of them. As a note I would tell that you for whatever reason are not careful in drawing hands. some of them look drawn at the wrong angle, kind of twisted ( gnome with dollar sign). So that's what I think, hands are not perfect, need more love.

I like the two Japanese looking characters on the second page, because it looks like some composition, they interact with each other and there is some beauty in those figures, probably because I recognise the outlines and shadows as believable.
That's all. See you, all the best to you and yours.
