Wowee, those anatomy/color studies on page two were awesome, as was the painting immediately following. I took a look at your old sketch book too. Just the sheer amount of output was great. Tons of time put in.

Also, I have not been around that long here, other than a bit of lurking, but you are a good encourager on the boards! Keep up the great work!

Darn, this was a whole new side of your stuff. Really nice robot designs.
Like how you put the red color into them.
Not the material I'm used to see you work with.

    Cheers!

dude! your linework is great, color these, start with them for a foundation of a finished digital. I think they have a much stronger structure than the purely digital, tablet-only stuff.

Hurricane, your shotgun approach to improving is awesome... you just drawn EVERYTHING ... ALOT....
that page with all the tiny figures is impressive dude, as are most of the things you got in here! You've got a good eye, those digital paints from awhile back were dead on.

Where's the 3d man? You were really getting good at texturing and it's a shame you haven't been posting more of that stuff!!

very solid. im usually not a fan of fan art.. but the jedi is very well done. I like the girl more though; nice job on the details and the drapery.
It would be nice if she was in some sort of environment though..

those starwars designs are sick man, just wanted to drop in and let you know that.... the only thing on the queen is that i wish there was a lil more angle to her body, so i could see more of her sweet costume. but that's a nitpicky thing, really nice man.

Again, hurri, you're great with people, but your hippopotamus anatomy still needs a lot of work. You're not going to get anywhere with that unless you crank out some studies, man!

Hey thanks for dropping by in my SB.

    Here comes my C&C:
Your characters are looking very nice. The loose style of yours is appealing, but improper for technical robot and sci-fi design. Maybe you should try to concentrate on clean and steady lines. A good way is to try different media instead of pencil. For example brushes, markers or pens, where you're forced to set your strokes correctly, because you can't erase or use a light value.

I like your digital paintings, but this one has one major problem for me:

It looks flat, because there is nothing leading the eye into the picture and the size comparison is not good enough. Maybe some details (waves, moles in the water...) in the front could be used to explain the dimensions of the ship. It seems that you have mainly focused on the ship while keeping everything else in the picture very undetailed and washed-out. That way the ship isn't looking as impresive and huge, as it could. Well that's just my opinion. Keep up the good work!

those are damn inspiring... both you and jake have been kicking butt.

I disagree with sam, I feel that ship piece is very effective as is... the looseness is what keeps it from looking sterile. True, the forms aren't extremely defined, but I'd say suggestion of form is more effective to the finished piece than ultratight construction... and probably more fun do make during a collab.

I'm sorry, but I don't want to offend anybody, also artist sometimes seem to be very sensitive. It's just my opinion about the composition in the ship peace and the robot doodles. I know I'm not good enough to crit like that, so teach me a better

    Anyway, a great sketchbook Hurricane!!
