    Hey Purb36

Am loving the Sargeant studies. Great to learn from the masters. Loomis is one of the best references for any drawing or illustration around. You are on the right track. Keep it up.

Hey man did you get my call ? I hope things are going well for the future And yes I have been drawing...but havent uploaded anything yet as I am currently praying to the high above for a massively awesome laptop for $500 ahah (*cough* fujitsu tablet *cough*). But anyways I am drawing...not much but every day when i have a few minutes/seconds/hours.

As for your stuff here...you are gonna punch me in the gonads but SLOW DOWN! Its not a race man. Some of your new stuff is kickin hard core...but a lot of it seems like you are rushing to get the information in. The sargeant study painted above is a good example. Now I want to see you finish it Finish it slowly even if it is the wrong base color...thats the whole point in learning. Or is it ;P ?

Anyways, I promise you i will get some shizz up soon. Give me a ringy dingy whenever you have the moment.

Hey poopy pants No worries. I figured that you had a lot on your plate at the moment. And if you need to, take a break from drawing for a day or two...or perhaps a week. Maybe you are just getting too frustrated trying to juggle everything at once. Baby steps man hehe And yes the fam is great...although yuri felt like log rolling down the stairs yesterday...giving both myself and the wife a heart attack. He is fine though. Tough little guy ahah.

stay well and keep in touch and dont sweat it. It all works out in the end. Motivation or not.

oh sweet, i havent been to spain in years, i used to always go when i was younger, but since my passport ran out, i havent been abroad ;(

thanks for the advice again, ill have to have a proper flick through yours soon, got too much work on the go at the minute to think about drawings haha, the closest thing to drawing im doing at the minute are animation thumbnails...and stick men crawling on the floor is hardly "figure studies"

ill post up some of my current project [videos] when i render and export them
    thanks again

ha, that's funny... but I didn't mean it like it was much better than the other stuff - I was saying that because you know I'm always posting water colours in my sketchbook, I do like it though - so pass on those props.

hey purb -- that cube study is a really good exercise, I remember having to do similar stuff in classes..it's a neat challenge of what you see versus what you expect to see--no surface has just a solid flat color. Looks like you captured that well on the front face in particular. It might be worth doing another cube or two like that

    Those hand studies are great!

ditch - it's all good. i like it tons too, and i'm tooootally in awe of her color ability, especially in just mixing. it's muuuuch harder than it looks, i realize now. digital has made me soft...i should do some mixing exercises. anyway, thx for the visit man; see you soon.

bsjoe - long time no see. i know work and all that is busy, but u should post more often. anyway, thx man! which cube pic are you talking about, digi or pencil? i got the idea from the g'mon vids on rendering matte surfaces, and also from Basic Rendering, by Robert W. Gill; really trying to work on form and painting and stuff, so it's all stuff that helps, i think. well, there'll be more to come. i did some drawing with friends at the mfa last night, which was pretty fun; you used to do that too, right? hope to see you out sometime man. take care, and update, ne!

model night at the boston museum of fine arts on wednesdays...they LIED! so apparently, even though they touted on their website that wednesdays are figure drawing, me and some friends get there and they promptly let us know that it's object drawing. was not happy, but at least it was free. so i got some good time in, and museum-goers make good for quicksketching. but you won't see those this time. some scans from earlier this week, and more illos; much much on the horizon. enjoy!!

btw, i dont no about you, but the new next-gen Bionic Commando looks good to ME! not that i would get it or anything, cause it's not in my projected lifetime budget. but YOU should pick it up. see y'all!
