Very cool sketches and animationsDo you use photoshop to animate?
Lav: thanks for your visit. i use TvPaint wich has a powerful brushes 'engine'
here i'm trying to get a decent style for children comics, not very complicated but nice to see. still trying !
tried inking with manga studio
did this on location, hope to do much more
a sketch that should go 3d
the son ...
the granny (didn't added lights yet)
and weekly ssg studies
clothes
Hi Zou,
Good job with the studies. I think you got a good feel for those folds.
I feel the red cheeks of the granny is a bit too much. I think it would be better if it was subtler. It works with the guy with the mustache because I could feel the "red" on the cheeks and nose.
hi dizon
you're right about the red cheeks, didn't noticed when doing it
here i tried inking again
left is with manga studio (then added some blur)
right is photoshop
clearly manga studio is better suited for inking (or illust studio wich is similar)
another location study
and ssg study: clothes
You're really good at drawing cloth. Those pants (25 january) are wonderful !
On the first pages of this sketchbook, you leave out most of the clothing details, for example in that comic "rêves écologiques". 2009 versus 2012: improvement.![]()
Heey Zou! =) Great work on your life drawings, they have a very good feel to them =) Me likey very muchy! =) Some feedback, Kahla's left hand seems a bit small in comparing it to her other hand. And that's about all I can see atm.. must say your works are looking really good atm. I wish you luck finding a children's book style that you like =) Good luck with your studies for that =)
awesome job on the clothing/drapery studies. location studies are looking nice, too!
the landscape sketches are great...very nice
Locations studies look very good, especially last one where I can feel space between trees. Love your street drawing from previous page and wish I could draw so great faces. A lot of valuable studies here.
HederaHiberna: thanks for going through the sband your kind words
Kungfoowiz: thanks bro , glad to see u back, i missed you.
WRappiii: thanks, thanks
Wraven: cheers
blu01: i'm glad you like them, wish you luck in your future drawings.
more clothes, i've done the trousers, time to go up. next time more woman clothes perhaps.
.gif files are cute.BTW,your ID (pronunciation) in Chinese mean "walk/go",hope you go further and get more on you way.
maolaosan: thanks for the translation, i chose it randomly (zou and loomis), happy it mean something nice in chinese

Loving your drawing man! =) It's so goooood! =) Good luck with the children magazine pitch, fingers crossed you get it! =)
Wow Zou I am really impressed with the progress you are making in all areas. It is great to see al your hard work paying off. I especially love your outdoor/location sketches. A hearty well done from me and just keep doing what you are doing because it is working.![]()
Great updateslove your forest studies, you are definitely refining your technique.
The inked pages for the childrens magazine are great, I'm going to have to try this Manga Studio tooThe only crit I have is the 'middle panel' of the last page it looks like her right thumb is dislocated. Good luck with the colouring and getting the gig
![]()
Kungfoowiz: thanks, i hope too
Marian Rowling: thank you so much, you made my day
Angel Intheuk: thanks for the crit. yes i forgot that my own thumb seems like that (i still use it as ref)

update
Wow, zou! You are working hard on that comic. I love the shots you have there. Great perspective work, too. Good luck on that.
Nice animal studies. It seems you had a hard time on the wolf. Maybe it's the fur that made it difficult hehe. Keep it up though!
Hi. Nice SB. I like the comic, and the animal studies... and the other stuff. Keep rocking![]()

To the extent that tree studies can be sexy, yours are.
Really good studies throughout this page, it's very inspirational!
Your comic work looks good too. For the character, I feel her face doesn't always feel quite right. I'm having a hard time putting my finger on it, but for instance in the second to last frame you posted, I think there's something with the eyes. Maybe they are a little misaligned or something. Or, since no one else have said anything, maybe it's just me
I think it can also be a bit hard to tell when she is surprised or not, because her eyes are always so wide open, and her eyebrows are always so raised. But maybe she's surprised all the time?
Those faces from last page are fantastic! The caricaturization seems to work really well, as you can quickly figure out the defining shapes. I've also been doing this type of sketching, and yours seem like actual people to me.
Good clothing studies, very clean! Post #798 shows some nice clothing action. Those first 2 girls are great, the figures are really accurate too. I too am noticing some problems with the eyes, notably in the comic. Perhaps its because the speculars/highlights seem to come from different directions. Like in the very last face of post #804. You should also try moving the pupils around for a better result. It's digital after all!
The animal studies are fantastic, notably the dog in #802. Some great gesture work.
