Congrats on the character design job mate, love the style and details and the different facial expressions well deserved!

Be careful though, some of them look a little unbalanced, especially the bottom two, I think the ground shadow helps but there's something a little off about their feet positions.

congrats on the job mate!!! really good designs with nice expressions. In the landscape maybe even with the pencil you could relax even more and simply mark huge masses of tones, starting from the big masses and going toward the smaller ones, instead of going the descriptive way. However you say that you were gonna do this in watercolor so i think its ok . The trees have this kind of toning i talk about, while the buildings dont have it. Keep up the good work !!!

Kingkostas: it's like you've been there i wasn't very relaxed doing that drawing (and more stressed doing the buildings)

Nice work dude, for watercolour you can try working from light to darker shades, progressively building to the darker shades. Also working from back to foreground to warm up to your values.

yo mate!! Very nice. Love the door, it seems you got the values better in that one. Mostly concern yourself with what is in shadow and what is in light and make the difference visible [unless diffused light on a cloudy day or something which needs work with ambient occlusion]
heheh yep the digi portrait is great !!!
    lets keep up mate!!!

Hello mateee!!! Love these location drawings!!! In this last piece, since you went with brushtrokes etc, i would suggest either to paint all the lines or not use line drawing at all. Painting is more painting shapes rather than describing them with individual lines. However i think its a nice change from your usual stuff.
    Lets keep up!!!

Hey zou! I agree, the location drawings are great! Really good attention to detail, and nice hinting at textures without drawing them out completely. Also your watercolours are looking good. You and Angela have both got a good watercolour thing going on. I think your colours in general are looking solid lately.

Really enjoy the outdoor drawings. Love the architecture. Seems you're using watercolours or something too. Have you tried grey markers? Seems like a useful way to add quick value to this type of drawing. Though I must say I like them as line drawings too.

I think the strength of those secondary characters is how far you are going with the design. Those facial shapes really differ. It's also just as if your painting method changes accordingly. Very nice character work.

I'm never quite sure which of these are for your actual job, and which are for practise. Do you have a 'normal' day to day job and do artwork on the side?

Lastly, I enjoy seeing that last robot sketch. Think you should do that more often. Just go for it and experiment some.

Hai: glad to see you back and thanks for the words of encouragements
kungfoowiz: will do if i continue this one

Anthis:thanks for the tip. i do have some grey markers, but since i can't find them here, i'm always very tipsy to use them :p
these were for practice. for the job i'm doing freelance (graphic, 3D , illustrations) and on the side i draw comics ( i try at least !)
