Hello I'm posting some more skketchees!!

Hopeless shade-thanks I figured how to add to the thread.Yes I go to the minneapolis college of art and design-MCAD-I'm a drawing major very intrested in conceptual art.My teachers don't always agree with my work.But It dosen't matter as long as I improve and do my best.

yo MIKE, i really like the way some of this new stuff is headed...those crustacean/sea creature influenced characters are AWESOME, especially the dude with the little head under the name RON...those are great, lots of personality. so glad to see you finally posting man, gotta keep up on your work while i'm away from MCAD. you oughtta post some pics of that armour you made too man. if i could give you one crit right now it'd be that some of your sketches are looking pretty outline heavy, it'd be nice to see em cut back from that a little bit to really push em out more. otherwise always great to see your stuff man

Got some more pics of some new work. spent all day drawing today will post results tomorrow. Here's three pencil drawings on 22x30 arches.These are some of my drawings from a anatomy class to do with animals and the human figure.







I read the rules that Davi posted about sketchbook rules. I accidentally reposted the same post twice while I was still figuring out what I was doing. I didn't mean to do it on purpose. anyway thanks for looking. I'm reallt excited about some of this work I'm making now I also make armor costumes and sculpture. Do I have to post it in the 3-d or can I keep the same thread going.Thanks again

yo mike, these last few finished drawings look awesome man...i especially like the second two, the rendering is super smooth man. you should totally post those armour suits in this thread and in the 3-d section both by the way. your stuff is getting a lot better and i think zack smith was right man, you should be doing more of these finished pieces. its working great for you.

Tasart- Thanks for your comments I also enjoyed your creature studies as well. We share the same intrest in deep sea creatures. tons of ideas come from nature and the sea. I actually started making the one color study into into finished wearable armor its part of project from school.

yo mike, i got my concept ready for you for our little colab sesh...by the way, when i get back to mpls in june(ish) we should do some colabs where we're both drawing on the same one...anyway, here goes...this guys name is Windham...and he's a dogfighter pilot that flies a rickety future-past bi-plane...the guy despises and distrusts everyone other than himself and his best friend/co-pilot, Earl, a small jittery monkey that seems a little too intelligent for his own good. haha, alright, have fun and think utilitarian objects. very curious about what comes up with this one...i'll start workin on RON this weekend man, hopefully tomorow.

MIIKKKKEEEE, comin through man...so glad you got those armours posted man, was unbelievable seeing em in life and i still really wanna put that samurai armour on to take some ref photos...oh by the way, dont feel like you've gotta do like windham, earl, and a plane man...that'd be pretty hefty...unless you wanna give me more stuff to do too (which is fine by me heheh)...but yea, do it at your own leisure man. as for puttin your sketchbook link on your post, go into your "user cp" from the menu at the top of the screen and go to edit signature and have the URL of your sketchbook already copied..click the 'insert hyperlink' icon next to the one you use to do the [img] business and you can choose what you want it to display and then you paste the link. i'm pretty sure thats what i did anyway...thanks for your comment on my new piece man, i've been workin my ass off tryin to get that thing workin right...i think its a big step up for me personally, more in the works. aight, talk to you soon man.

Great work man, I really admire your ink hatching and your anatomy studies.
If I may just critizise one thing - its a pitty you use the white outlining so often. I think it is sometimes working against your delicate hatching and the renderings.
Otherwise - big respect and 5 stars for real!

mike, these look good man, i love the last one of the otter/beaver dude, such a cool concept..and the purple digital on the reverse page looks pretty cool and quick. but i also really like the armor on the first of the images, that clam-like mask is great. i'ma try to actually get around to workin on my ron concept this weekend...think i've got some time. later man

Holy crap ...... when did this sketch book start and how did I miss it? King I just have one thing to say....these sketches.....THEY R-O-C-K. You've got alot of wicked concepts going on here and it looks like things flow from your mind quite easily with the way your creatures look. Also the helmets are tuff.

great style. really like your ink technique and cross hatching.. everything looks great. one crit: on this riddick portrait the lips look messed up, kinda too flat. but that's all i could find atm.
