Freakin' right on!Great start to your thread, bro. Looks like you're gonna have a nice healthy sketchbook thread if you keep this up. The watercolors are great but I really like the pencils. I'd like to see smoother tones in your pencil renders but their lookin' pretty darn nice. Looks like you've been keeping yourself busy! Loads of stuff here! Experiment while you can, bro! That's what free time is for! Keep it kickin'.

Awesome stuff, Main Loop. I'm most interested in your creature/beast sketches, keep those coming. I also need to learn how to render in your sketchy sort of style with all the lines going one way. Any advice?
Keep it up.![]()
cool man, there's a marked improvement from the first few things you posted up to the last, keep it up man! i really like the dude w. the red sweater, has a nice flow to it.
HEROIC: heh i like drawing girls
well from some teacher i picked up that when you hatch in shadow the best way to do it is have the lines follow the direction of the light.. coupling that up with a sense of finding form through plane changes, BAM you got my style down..Originally Posted by Odds
cotron-glad you like that one, i think its the power of the dude to inspire...
it's BILLLLLLL!! and it's so perfect. it's an awesome likeness and i really like your lines in the drawing, it's lovely.
what would make it horribly perfect is some audio file with some sanchez samples...
Nice work! I really dig the chick in the helmet. The portraits all have retro flair, I don't know who your inspirations are but it's not a bad thing at all.
Keep it up!![]()
execute: Oh gosh, hahahaha.. bring a recorder to his class, and i'll throw a rap beat behind it, how does that sound??
artkitty: thanks, i swipe a little from here and there, my biggest drawing influences i'd say are Loomis, C.D. Gibson and other pen and ink illustrators of the time, James Kei (and a lot of other AAU grads), and Joseph Clement Coll..
icey-yeah thats a wierd shoulder on the first page.. what anatomy issues do you see in the 2nd girl? i wasnt working from much ref so its easy to fudge it.. if you or anyone could point em out, that'd be helping me out a lot
Cool stuff, Sergio. I liked the assignment you turned in the other week. Really dynamic and rich, Can't wait to see your viking assignment![]()
Sup Robin, yeah sooner or later i'll post that up on here.. i fixed it some, i'll bring it to class tuesday.. thanks for checking my stuff out on here.. my viking assignment's gonna be something to look forward to

wow... these last life drawings are really great, your lines and shading have become graceful. i'm impressed, and inspired, and totally not just saying that to blow smoke up your ass
(hey, check out the time of this post...on a monday.. mehehe.. see you in 20!)
Wow.
For starters, I say what ExeCute said.
Secondly, I love your 10th image on your first post. Excellent piece. Your portrait of Fergi (spelling? Black Eyed Peas Girl..) is awesome, looks just like her.
You seem to be very diverse and talented in all the things you do, so keep posting!
Seriously enjoyed your life drawings and the bus sketches, really cool.
Keep it up, welcome, and post some more!

Saw your tutorial about gouache in the tutorial section and came across your sketchbook, great stuff, a lot of variety.
I'm going to try gouache too, I see you and Bojee doing great things with it but I hear it's difficult to control.
Keep going!
im amazed oO gonna watch you so keep posting!
great thread loop, very inspiring.
I like your paintings the most. Would like to see more! Who is the old man anyway?

execute -get ya ass to the workshops!
IanE - Thanks, i try to be diverse... i need to do more life drawing again... drawing from photos too much will screw you up..
buzzz3d - ehh its all in how you use it.. i tend to go thinner than most would recommend.. to me its like watercolor with options..
jokisalo - thanks man, your stuff's good too
endregan - check the life painting thread, im planning on putting up a lot more there soon..
Nima - of course its bill... who else?

Nice crawl sketches loop. I really like those bus pics you got posted earlier, drawing people as they move around is no easy task.
Main Loop, I'm feelin' your work mane.(especially the taco truck and alcatraz thumbnail) I really enjoyed talking with you, same with Steakatron, Execute, Kaz, etc. This sketchcrawl was an awesome event and I had a great time!!
Peace out
Holla
hey Sergio.
wow! now that's how I want to draw!!
exellent!
-heri
It was nice meeting you at the crawl, man. The sketches make a nice little time capsule. I'm impressed with how much you squeezed out.I'm partial to the brush pen drawings myself, the variation of line weight makes them look really fresh and spontaneous. The little color thumbs are looking tight too.
Sweet work. I hope to crawl with y'all again.
lemme put some captions on these:

heri - thanks, lots of practice.... you used my real name, do i know you from somewhere?
strangealchemist - hey chris, yeah brushes are pretty fun to sketch with, if you like em, you should check out the one i showed you on friday.. next crawl hopefully we all get out there once again..
