    looks great !

one thing you can do is to look for photos of muscles, especially arms, they need some work, try to look at where muscles starts and ends !

a great post and i will drop by again for sure !

    cheers !

u can get some anatomybooks for learning stuff like that.. me recommends hogart.. he shows u how the skin flows around the bones.. he dont draw skin. which dont show u the muscles... but its what we have to know.. where the hack are my muscles

hogarth also indicates.. how the muscles are connectet with eachother.. he shows u how the muscles flow into eachother with lines.. its awesome.. i really learned almost evrything about where and what my muscle names are ... whith my hogart book

Still a long road in front of you but your dedication is a very strong start. All you need now is loads of work. Anatomy still needs work, value studies are ass-kicking - gr8 way to learn, progress already shows. Keep it coming

I like your work on LOTR.
I think, it is more interesting for you, at this time, to improve your interpretation of the reality. Draw, draw, and observe.

Thank you so much Bruno for posting!! Your are the best.
You are right about drawing more of the things i observe instead of the ones from my imagination. Cuz drawing things from my head is a real pain for now.

thanks again, and you should post more

Carlos: What a pleasure to have you here! Thanks for the advice dude

I realy dont have much time nowadays, having to go arrange stuff at the hospital for a family member almost everyday. And I'm also working on KQ9 stuff so that doesnt leave much room for personal projects.

Anyways, here is a little sumthin sumthin that I did this morning with reference. Feedback always appreciated.

i think that castle is on its way.. to tie in all the colors more, try glazing a very weak orange over the blue parts, i mean real low opacity, like a weak watercolor wash.. the colors of the castle and the rest of it seem very isolated from eachother.. remember that also for figure work..

Hurricane: Thanks man, your absolutely right, i'll pay more attention next time, keep on writing here I realy like it

    randomnesses

I copied some stuff from my new book

This was real fun to do, I just experimented with some lines and values not realy paying attention to what it's gonna give. It kinda looks interresting

    Red face

    hahaa nice experiment O_o

looking cool with all these contrasts * values

head and face features .. iam drawing same since some days O_o

well.. what u could do is : try to keep ur studies simple.. saves time and u can understand 1 proportions and 2 volume better..i think its easier to understand it.. when i feel save at drawing these simple shapes and know how to indicate the volume i can add more details and shading

4 lines for simple lip base shape
another 4 to indicate the uper lip volume
3 more to get the lower lip volume
the rest is surface shading or indicating.. simple hatch the uper and lower lip to indicate the surface.. these lines i use to hatch have to be alligned at the correct angle according to the lips surcface.. this makes the lip get the 3D look.. all depends on the angle

take a look at ur lips .. u have lotsa lil crinkles over the lips surface..
when i draw lips.. i always draw these crinkles to get my lipp 3D.. this time i use smooth rolling lines like ( or ) not like l
when u take a look at ur lips in profile u see how the curve looks .. use this curvature to get an idea about the lips surface shading ... when u see this ( from front.. it just appears flat.. like -> l

between l and ( u have simple shape transformation.. when u allign these diffrent shapes over ur lips volume u get a very nice look..

i try to find my cube shapes evrywhere.. they help me to understand the volume and how to allign it in 3Dspace*orbit

(u can draw lips like a cube.. very cubical and stuff.. this helped me alot to understand the volume from any objects..i draw heads cubical too.. and i subdevide a sphere in 4corner shape.. which is a suqare..or 6corners hexagon* 8corners octagon 10 -decagon 12-dodecagon ..14 and so on..until 360 which is a circle

    sweet selfpoirtait O_o
    whats ur age again ?

a common misstake, put your hand over the right side and then over the left side of your face... its 2 different faces...

tricky part is to make em work together, its that little extra that makes a portrait shine

great progress though, always a pleasure to look at your updates
