    looks great !

one thing you can do is to look for photos of muscles, especially arms, they need some work, try to look at where muscles starts and ends !

a great post and i will drop by again for sure !

    cheers !

u can get some anatomybooks for learning stuff like that.. me recommends hogart.. he shows u how the skin flows around the bones.. he dont draw skin. which dont show u the muscles... but its what we have to know.. where the hack are my muscles

hogarth also indicates.. how the muscles are connectet with eachother.. he shows u how the muscles flow into eachother with lines.. its awesome.. i really learned almost evrything about where and what my muscle names are ... whith my hogart book

thumbnails I do to learn more about values and composition. These are mostly movie stills from LOTR. They range from 15-60 minutes

    Hey,

Had to visit your sketchbook since you were nice enough to drop by mine. I like the stuff you have going on here, it seems that you are learning a lot of new things. It's nice to see people improve in these sketchbooks. Love the dog sketches.

Are you taking any life drawing classes? If not, consider them. I've been taking them for the last couple of months. A lot can be learned.

I guess I might see you at the montreal CA workshop.

Keep up the good work... nice to see some locals on here.

This doesn't look too bad, the studies seem to pay off and you have some nice volume in your drawing. Your drawings are very tight, you might want to loosen them up sometimes, but it's not generally a bad thing I think.
Sometimes it's easy to lose track of where you are when you are studying, so you might feel like you aren't progressing, but it looks like you are doing well.

    Hi! long time no see!

I thought i would scan in some of my doodles since it's been so long.

Some of these sketches are for different projects for school (like the facial expressions are for my animation class). The woman with the dog is for another project an the thumbs with the different cities also.

critiques and comments are strongly encouraged!

    thank you for viewing

Like your handstudies there. and the dog!

The thumbnails in the last update works good as well. Wish you'd work more on the painting with the throne, but I know how it is to go tired of a piece, heh.

Hey Sork, thanks for dropping by i will definetely focus more on doing studies from now on. And that throne painting.... I just can't stand to look at it anymore

I felt like drawing some quick studies before going to bed... I wish i could attend life models regularly but for now I have to settle for pictures

i took references from this site http://www.characterdesigns.com/

under "photosets" you can find some pretty decent references for action poses

Hey! I know it's been a while but I will post more often from now on.
    Critiques are always very welcome

Here are landscape sketches that I did for practice. I tried to get all the colors and mood right while looking at a picture.

This is a color study from the movie "La citee des enfants perdus". That movie is amazing for it's use of colors and its mood.

really interesting seeing the difference between your older work and your current work. There's some really nice stuff in your sketchbook, you should post more often. I love the guy with the sunglasses and cigarette on page 2, nice shading and abstraction. As it was done in 2005 I would love to see you do something simular with your current skillset.

thanks Setherial, I feel my style has changed many times in the last years and I'm not sure if I would be able to recreate something similar to that sketch. But it's well worth the try
I also plan to draw every day and keep improving and that also means posting more often Thanks so much for stopping by, your encouragement adds more fuel to my fire.
